Thunderbird Club

Probably the rarest early '60s Thunderbird in existence, it's owned by our club member David Price, this is a long clip so you may wish to FF to catch a glimpse or two of it - Great musicians tho.

Good price and free shipping on a white Gibson. White doesn’t come up very much.

That is a good price on what is a somewhat hard to find finish, it's not a refin either - actually it's in pretty good shape and those early re-issues have a great, shallow pitch neck. The s/n is below the second and third tuners, like mine it's very hard to read because it's almost filled in with paint. If I didn't already have one, I'd be one this.

I think we have our first hour set pretty much done. A bit of work on endings. Now need to work on getting a gig around the holidays. Folks are traveling for much of October.

Question: Is this about an acid trip on the SoCal 101?

Or about drinking some JD?

You have much better eyes than me. I’ll take your word for it.

"The" SoCal 101..... you must be from CA..
Yep, CA is the only place I’ve ever lived where major highways are referred to as “The”. As in “The 5” or “The 101”. Back in the Midwest (or the Mid Atlantic or the South or the Rustbelt, whatever you want to call the Kentucky/Cincinnati area) they would normally just say 275 or I-75.

Everyone else is incorrect.

Refin? Shouldn't the serial number be on the back of the headstock?
Even a refin should have the serial number unless it's been sanded off for some reason. The Flamingo still has its serial number.

If I wanted a white one for that much money, I would buy this one and refinish it. It's a 2001 with stock pickups.

2001 Burst Bird

Except I don't think I saw the one that was being discussed. The white one I saw was a 2006.

I met some long term friends at those events. None of us do any of that stuff any more.
I used to attend conferences on both sides. I don’t miss them at all. The only reason I went was to rack up MCLE credits. I did both the Consumer Attorneys meetings in San Francisco several years and the Association of So Cal Defense Counsel conferences, usually in Century City, over many years. Quit going when COVID happened. I’m pleased to say I will never go to another one.
