Thunderbird Club

Sounds great! I’m just about sold. In the four years they made them I think they came in black, white, Tobbaco burst and natural. I’m feelin a lotta love for the black and white ones.
The search is almost on!
I’ve heard from you, Donnie and Veronica, just need Marshall to try and talk me down - heck, that enabler isn’t gonna let that happen. @MCF how does your Bi compare to your 2015?
It’s always hard for me to describe what I’m hearing. I know what I like and EQ accordingly.

The Sidewinders in the ‘77 have the most clarity of any bass I own. The ‘15 also has excellent clarity, but a little less. The ‘77 has no mud at all. None. Zero. Nada. Just a pleasant consistent growl across all strings. It gets angry, but sounds more like an archangel, than the devilish Tbird+ sound. And I love both.

Build wise, the ‘77 is heavier, but not overly so. No belly cut, but about the same thickness. The neck is very similar, maybe a tad beefier, but it’s hard to say.

I think you need to play mine. I’ll come down and hit your wine collection while you play it. Just let me know what works for you.

I’ve decided to buy a Bicentennial bird. I’ll go with a road worn player in black or white if I can find one. Once I get it come on down and bring yours. According to our Queen there’s a lot of variability in how these things sound. Would be interested to hear how each one differs.

Yeah. You need one. Then get a Studio. The Tbird+ pickups in my ‘05 Studio sound like the voice of God (thanks Dave).

Yep, CA is the only place I’ve ever lived where major highways are referred to as “The”. As in “The 5” or “The 101”. Back in the Midwest (or the Mid Atlantic or the South or the Rustbelt, whatever you want to call the Kentucky/Cincinnati area) they would normally just say 275 or I-75.
You really haven’t lived till you’re stuck somewhere on HWY 17….. 😆

It’s Cinco de Mayo every week when you have Mexican neighbors that should be running a restaurant! Tonight was torta de papa, last week was tacos with Chicharron con papas y chorizo con papas, then Ranchero, and don’t forget birria.

I’ve spent many an hour on 17 between Los Gatos and Santa Cruz, and done some pretty stupid things on that road at some pretty stupid speeds, but I’ve never been stuck on it thank God.
On my motorcycle at night - 100% concentration.
