Thunderbird Club

And for the color...

I'm going to do one more coat of color. When finished it should look like the truck. It's a beautiful deep fine metallic Ruby Red. The gold hardware and parchment pic guard should look fantastic on it.

Something like this. I kept walking by the truck and thinking how great that would look. Already love the color and know what it looks like so finally went that direction.

What a beauty!!

I don't think Jeremiah Johnson has his fire wood "delivered."
Will that last the Winter or will you go through more than that?
Just reminded me- had to do work cutting and delivery and my parents' property this past winter and replenishing afterward-

Got to admit that splitting large pieces was a new one on me and really difficult until I watched a few YouTube video and got the right tools!

The raw material- hurricane and tropical storm casualties-

Tools- a proper splitting axe and maul, particularly the latter worked way better than traditional axes or wedges-

It was much expended when I returned after Christmas-

Then after sawing and splitting a couple of downed trees-

Our kindling rack- I love starting fires the old fashioned way-

Didn't feel the need to go to the gym for a while--

I was in search of a video of this song featuring a T-Bird but got one of those SG basses that I forget the exact name of- but it's such a cool song and bass line, and the video is that 70's trippy style with repeated zoom and fish-eye effects-

I've learned the main bass riff and will probably work out the rest of the song to cover sometime- has anyone else covered this song?

Good work.
I have zero interest in splitting any more wood. Been there done that, ain't doing it again. But like you said, with the proper tools it's not the worst thing.

Cool track! I forgot about that song.
That’s an EB2. Basically a 335 body with a short scale neck and the EB3 pickups.
I had a sunburst one - never should have sold it!

But, what?
But the wheels in my head are grinding away. I don't have unspoken for cash, and certainly not more than 2K worth of unspoken for cash, but if I did, I would be all over it. It would need a Bass X-Tender and a Babicz bridge, which just adds to the ultimate cost. The painted case doesn't bother me at all. The best part is that it has stock 2001 pickups. Gibson got something right with those if they are the same as what's in my pixie-dust bass. They are every bit the equal of Thunderbuckers to my ears.

Just do it.
I just spend a decent percentage of what that would cost to buy plane tickets to visit the boy and the girl. Being the dad means I'll be spending money on them while we visit. If that bass is there in a couple of months, I might. For now, it's only a pleasant dream.

The bass is an EB-2. That one appears to be stock. Mine is missing its pick-guard and has a Dimarzio One instead of a mudbucker up by the neck. That one appears to be the two pickup version, which makes it the same as mine. Same color, too.

It would be a fun song to figure out.

Here is another one, this time with a Thunderbird II.

Tull is da bomb.

Living is my favorite Tull song. I have a pdf chart if you want it. It’s in E Flat, 144 bpm. It’s tricky.

Having lived on a boat for over 20 years it was always a treat for me to sit by a fireplace in the winter. And the wood on their properly would've eventually rotted or got eaten by termites. And mom was complaining abut the dead trees because she's a stickler about keeping a neat yard-

She even helped and she was 85! We celebrated her 86th birthday this past August.

Tull is da bomb.
They were a staple with us. Saw them four or five times back in the day. Twice as the opener for Yes; they were doing Heavy Horses on one of them. But sadly, they were not all that well received. It was either at Anaheim Convention Center or the Forum. The sound was a bit off for them that night…

I knew it was an EB something but didn't know what number-

Thanks for the offer on the chart- initially the tricky part for me was the chorus because the notes are sparse and spaced out and fall on certain vocal phrases
as opposed to the main riff and the latter walking part - I'll let you know if I get stuck -
Thanks again!!

I edited my post, I was referring to Living in the Past. Never tried Teacher…
