Six nights a week for ~9 years was the norm for me. And the best times of my musical "career". These effing one-niters with schlep everything-including PA-in, play 3-4 sets, schlep it out, suck(for lack of a better term)but at least I/we were still playing for appreciative people.

You were doing the right thing at the right time and place in an era that no longer exists - respect.

Sometimes I leave a tuner clipped on the bridge of my upright to keep an eye on my intonation.

Each of my basses has a clip-on tuner that stays on it.

definitely not as much fun when you do it 6 nights a week...

It's like a lot of dedicated involvements in life - I raced (road) bikes for a little over 25yrs as a serious amateur and had my successes, but compared to a pro... That is a serious 24-7 / 365 days life of dedication. They always inspired me and made watching them race more insightful knowing the levels they are at as a cycling advocate. Everybody has their own sports camp - for me euro pro-cycling is thee most beautiful sport. (Moto GP is a close second)

100W to be more than enuff.

In this circumstance my 50w Ampeg PF50 and a 115 would have been enough, probably even too much, but I usually don’t get the opportunity to use FOH and have monitors. We are a loud heavy rock band, and when I want to be heard equal (or over ) drums and guitars, and am relying on my amp only, to fill the room, I definitely need more. Finding the right live rig, one that is small, light and powerful is what I’ve been doing, and hopefully the GK212 and Ashdown is it, but it was way too much for Friday night’s situation. I’m hoping the 8 ohm GK210 will be the answer when I need to keep the stage volume down. I have plenty of amps, all tube 20w, 50w, 75w, 100w, 200w. Then the 500w, 600w, and 800w solid state. I’m pretty sure my 100w V4B and it’s companion 212 cab would work everywhere we play, but it stays at one of my rehearsal spaces, which is a 2nd floor (technically 3rd floor) room up 2 flights of stairs. I’m fortunate enough to have enough gear that I can leave rigs at both spaces undisturbed, and have a selection of live rigs at home ready to load up. But, I’m always afraid of being underpowered in situations where there’s no FOH for anything but VOX and I have to compete with two loud guitars.

Another thing that a lot of you might be used to but I haven’t experienced is having yourself and the rest of the band coming at you from in front of you, through monitors, and only hearing the drums from behind you. In this case it was weird and I really didn’t have any of me in the monitors, I think I only heard bass from the back of the mains, and the subs that were under the face of the stage facing the audience.

I mentioned to my guys that I need a Winters gig (small bar, low stage, pa for vox only) to cleanse my palette of Friday night’s stage experience.

@JIO knows, Winters is just a downright fun place to play, and many of us around the SF bay have played there A LOT, and it kinda feels like home at this point.

At this point I’m just happy to get to play out most anywhere, while there are still places that let original and hard rock bands play.

Being the "Defending champion" is frankly a PITA. Almost skipped it this year due to workload burnout, but my boss prevailed upon me.

Not there, but I believe they give the bands a small percentage of the bar.

Being in two bands with all 50 something’s and a 60 something playing hard rock originals, it’s a challenge to get people to come out. While some venues do charge and people do come, Winters is a small local hangout/bar that always has music and people come and go for free, makes it a fun place.

They are to me undeniably cool and I'm really happy to have the two that I do, there are times when nothing else will do. But, between the two I must admit to liking the Reverse just a little better.

Well, the purchase of the GK 210 Neo IV 8 ohm cabinet looks to be a wise one, using the 8 ohm cab with the Ashdown at 300w definitely opens up the amp and allows me to get the input and output meters moving without shaking my house down. I can use this for reasonable level practice in my garage with the input at 11 o’clock and the output up to 10-11 o’clock. It also sounds great with the GK Fusion800s, however, it looks like the Fusion is going to GK for repair. Getting static and some cutting out when first using the amp for the first half hour or so. I hope they can find what it is, I really like the amp, and after I sell my Venture V7, and PF800, it will be the only class D I have. Since it has three 12AX7’s I figure that why it sounds so good and it’s probably a good class D to have.
