I s'pose, but Rick Beato-among others(Little Steven, for one)-commented on bands looking like anyone in the crowd. And needing badges to get on stage 'cos security had no idea who they were.

Mine rarely does. Shiny black polyester shirt, the Flamingo, black trousers. Nobody looks like that.

Ain't gonna work when I gots to read charts.. I tried de-tuning. Once. Then I got handed a lead sheet. On a gig, not a rehearsal where I'd've had time to figure it out. No more de-tuning.

I use drop D fairly often on bass guitars. Not on the upright. Drop D is pretty straight forward once you figure out the fingering quirks.

There was a time when I would only wear boots onstage, I was a lot younger then, they really make your feet sweat. I don't miss them.

I think I know Geo well enough to know that he would never build something he wouldn’t play himself, unless it was a commission from someone else. Even then….

Made this short-scale 5-string for hired-gun Chris Kuffner years ago. Saw him recently on the Peninsula playing with blueswoman Joanne Shaw Taylor playing the same bass. I met Joe Bonamassa after the show in the green room after he asked Chris what great sounding bass he was playing!

This is pretty cool. I'll bet this is where the Indonesian Epiphones are built.

I knew some of this, but not all. For instance, I didn't know they made amplifiers there.

Are there still Indonesian Epis being made?

I watched the other night and meant to post it. It was interesting.
I suspect Lakland Skyline and G&L Tributes are built there. Both are exceptionally well made.

My only complaint with my Tribute was that the pots became scratchy quickly. I should have replaced them under warranty but didn't. A new set a couple of years later wasn't too expensive from G&L. Otherwise it was nearly perfect.
