@JIO Hey Geo,

Stumbled across this. You’ve probably seen it, but just in case…it’s pretty cool.

Thanks Marshal - I hadn't seen that one. So many people consider Wichita Lineman one of the greatest pop song of all time as I personally do. I love performing it with TSC and playing the solo with Paul doubling on guitar. It's a highlight of our set and when we play at Winters', I always preface it by warning our audience that we'll see tavern owner CJ cry. :) Regardless of what our set comprises - it's always on there.

This is my favorite Glen Campbell performance of it and the version we play. (in a different key for Kirstin) The ending is different from the original - much more emotional. If you haven't seen the doc on his final concert (free on YouTube) - I highly recommend it. But be forewarned that you will be crying at the end. One of the most inspirational stories ever told - illustrating how his burning creative spirit overcame his illness in his final days on earth. Bowie comes to mind and if you haven't seen the doc on his last LP - another essential watch.

I mentioned this earlier- has anyone looked into the EMG Thunderbird Pickups? Of the six models, only one is passive, and include models with J and P coils inside-

Myself would never cut an original Gibson Thunderbird to add batterie(s) and I don't prefer active pickups anyway. But others might be interested in trying it with a an aftermarket facsimile-

I actually watched this video before buying a Thunderbird. This guy wasn't shy about modifying his Gibson Thunderbird. It was interesting to see him try many different combinations of the TB active series-

I’ve seen the doc. Very emotional. And yes, it’ll bring tears, especially to those who grew up in the sixties/early seventies and watched his show every week. Playing with his family at the end must have been bittersweet.

The Bowie doc was very hard to watch for me.

Pretty Mustang! Too much money for what it is but I bet it sounds as good as mine…

Which I’d sell for $500 if anyone’s interested. Same great look and same great sound but at a fraction of the price. IIRC that’s either a Gibby pup or an Epiphone 760ProBucker (I’ll have to confirm which one it is).

The white bird is a bit steep. Considering it needs a refin that will cost at least $400 it should be priced closer to $1000.
Do you deliver? 🤣

This guy puts EMG in everything. Only ones I've tried were the passive ones, and they were very close in tone to the recent TB+. I was hoping they'd be closer to the 2001 TB+. Sent them back.

Me too - watching uncomfortable things about the end of life is a necessary part of being fully human that most people shy away from. But the only sadness is that there won't be more from both Glen Campbell or Bowie - their dedication to their art to the point of passing should provide inspiration to all of us as musicians. (and humans)
