Thunderbird Club

He's thinking about blue pretty much everything.
Yep. I bleed blue.

That Kasino sounds good. It's a little dark, got a dash of dirt around the edges, and has a nice easy kind of punch to it. I imagine a Gibson Grabber going through that.
My '67 NR sounded great through it. The onliest recordings I have of the Kasino, I was playing my Epi EB-3L.

My creative energy pretty much at a sorry level any time of the day. I didn't mind practicing at night when young. But as I get older I'm less of a fan. I don't mind early morning. But noonish would be great for the reasons you mentioned. I never watch sports live. Always record to skip the commercials.
I've tried that(recording sports), but then somebody'll tell me the result b4 I see the game. :banghead:

Finally made it thru "Hound Dog" in time, on tempo, and with no weak notes, on a 34 "scale, 1st though 7th frets, first time and not even any blood or skin lost.
Probably doesn't seem like much to you pros, but it's been a long time coming that I didn't short-fret even one of the V chord high D's on the G string, or bungle the walkout.
Could do it passible well on a short-scale for a while, but tonight was the first time I got it fully together on a full-scale.

Magic Thunderbird makes me play better. :)

Is a birthday a good reason to buy a bass? What a stupid question even for my standards...
There's a nice looking Greco T-Bird from 1980 for sale here in Finland. Can't really afford it but one can only dream.

But my album is out now on streaming services so check it out if you want to hear some calm ambient soundscapes or some heavy-handed fretless weirdness or, like in this case, both:

Nice. The small victories are the ones that bring you forward, that make the most difference.

Cool, it's on today's cave list.

There's still one for sale in my neighborhood. But honestly it's bigger than I want to roll in to most- like 90%- of the gigs I play. Sometimes I long, just a little bit, for 40 years ago, when we all did that big amp thing.

Yeah, that's a drawback. Had friends that would text during or afterwards and I would tell them I haven't started yet or am not finished. They all know not to talk about outcomes and just ask if I'm watching now. You just need to train your friends.

Yes is it, but mine's a few weeks away, and you really don't have to do that!

Best wishes if your BD is at hand!

A birthday is always a reason to buy a Thunderbird. Of course so is Christmas, Father’s Day, Ground Hog Day….

The tuck and roll? But that's the Kustom... I had a black tuck and roll 215 when I was in Miami in the early 90s. Pushed it with a Carvin ProBass 150. Loud and gnarly.
From AI:

“Kasino was a brand of amplifier created by Kustom Electronics in 1972 as a parallel line to the main Kustom brand. The goal was to offer a more conservative-looking product with traditional Tolex covering, appealing to players who disliked the flashy Tuck-And-Roll Naugahyde style of Kustom amps. The two lines shared the same internal circuits, but Kasino amps were aimed at country artists and others who preferred a more traditional appearance. The Kasino brand was discontinued in 1975 after a change in ownership for Kustom Electronics.”

Mine was a ‘73. Traded in a Bassman 50 blackface and a totally beat Bassman 212 to get it. The Fender couldn’t cut it in the places we played.

As of about 10 years ago, the Bassman head was still owned by an older guitar player on the Central Coast who bought it from the store I traded it to.

I love this version.
