There's a lot of tube love, but for me, old solid state works just fine for bass. Guitar needs tubes a whole lot more than bass, although I have heard some solid state guitar amps that sounded great. I don't know how the circuits work, but somebody clearly knew what the sound needed to be and how to get there. That Kasino sounds good. It's a little dark, got a dash of dirt around the edges, and has a nice easy kind of punch to it. I imagine a Gibson Grabber going through that.
Blocking out music time during the day is one of those things I'm looking forward to being able to do once I become independently wealthy and don't need a day job any more. Easy for me to say now. Once that day comes, I suspect my days will turn to mush and I will get exactly bupkus done, just like now.My creative energy pretty much at a sorry level any time of the day. I didn't mind practicing at night when young. But as I get older I'm less of a fan. I don't mind early morning. But noonish would be great for the reasons you mentioned. I never watch sports live. Always record to skip the commercials.
And a crane.Yep. I’ll rent a big van and get Chuck, Dave, Rich, Geo, and George to help…
It's like a talent pedal, only better. Finally made it thru "Hound Dog" in time, on tempo, and with no weak notes, on a 34 "scale, 1st though 7th frets, first time and not even any blood or skin lost.
Probably doesn't seem like much to you pros, but it's been a long time coming that I didn't short-fret even one of the V chord high D's on the G string, or bungle the walkout.
Could do it passible well on a short-scale for a while, but tonight was the first time I got it fully together on a full-scale.
Magic Thunderbird makes me play better.![]()
I read that 10-2-1-11 (oclock) is flat on the GK tone controls, so I start with that on my MB200.Pro (Bob Gallien) tip: Crank the "Volume" knob (or Trim on the newer ones) and use "Master" for volume. And start with EQ all at noon. I rarely stray far from that.
And Tuesday. Don't forget Tuesday. Mike beat me to it. Mike is fast for such a venerable guy, doncha know. Maybe that's why he's so fast. He already knows.A birthday is always a reason to buy a Thunderbird. Of course so is Christmas, Father’s Day, Ground Hog Day….
imho, the output transformer which is mandatory (for high power bass amplification) in tube amps and optional in SS amps plays a big role in the sound you describe....There's a lot of tube love, but for me, old solid state works just fine for bass. Your wish is my command.was hoping you would post the 63 along with the B-15...
Strange. I've never heard that. Sounds just like what the Contour knob does.I read that 10-2-1-11 (oclock) is flat on the GK tone controls, so I start with that on my MB200.
