I love this version.
I think everything did. My old Peavey head weighed as much as my 100w Ampeg tube head. Weighed more than my V-4B reissue, or so it seems. The head was heavy and the 215 was as well. How I was able to stuff the cab in the back seat of my Cordoba is beyond me. But I was a lean mean construction worker back then. Likely carried the head in one hand, the cab in another and chewing on beer can.And weighed a ton!

The point is everyday is a good day to buy a Thunderbird. You're leaving out all those days in between.
Ha! You think you’re old? You should have seen me moving the SVT rig from the basement to the living room. By myself.…and yet another thing we old guys can add to the list of things kids today never had to deal with, like walking 7 miles to school barefoot in the snow….uphill, both ways.
I love this version.
But... but.... I bought mine at night? The point is everyday is a good day to buy a Thunderbird.
We're only talking days here. Yours doesn't count and you need to try again, during the day this time.But... but.... I bought mine at night?
Well yeah. We're only talking days here. Yours doesn't count and you need to try again, during the day this time.

It was a comparison between Gibson vs EY Guitars. There was a Brooks comparison using Chinabuckers Vs A.N.Other brand.
TBH I found it difficult to find much difference, and may even have preferred the Chinabuckers in certain areas.
Edit: I can’t find it now.
@Basvarken - do you have it saved?
Yes-if it was an outdoor concert. That was the last time it went outta the house(2015).Is that the vid of a gig you played with it? You posted one here once, about 1,200 posts or so back...
And could do the big@$$ amp thing. There's still one for sale in my neighborhood. But honestly it's bigger than I want to roll in to most- like 90%- of the gigs I play. Sometimes I long, just a little bit, for 40 years ago, when we all did that big amp thing.
Tuesday...A birthday is always a reason to buy a Thunderbird. Of course so is Christmas, Father’s Day, Ground Hog Day….
The price was also 'conservative' compared to the Tuck-And-Roll.From AI:
“Kasino was a brand of amplifier created by Kustom Electronics in 1972 as a parallel line to the main Kustom brand. The goal was to offer a more conservative-looking product with traditional Tolex covering, appealing to players who disliked the flashy Tuck-And-Roll Naugahyde style of Kustom amps. The two lines shared the same internal circuits, but Kasino amps were aimed at country artists and others who preferred a more traditional appearance. The Kasino brand was discontinued in 1975 after a change in ownership for Kustom Electronics.”
Mine was a ‘73. Traded in a Bassman 50 blackface and a totally beat Bassman 212 to get it. The Fender couldn’t cut it in the places we played.
As of about 10 years ago, the Bassman head was still owned by an older guitar player on the Central Coast who bought it from the store I traded it to.
They were built like tanks-and weighed ~the same. And weighed a ton!
Yeah, but it sounds 'odd' if ya heard Elvis's version first.Yes, that's killer. Been a while since I heard her version.
you just summed up my 20's and what resulted in my early 30's busted L4.....today, the SVT only goes from the garage to the back and back into the garage....I can only imagine. The last time I had to move an SVT cab and head up stairs was over 10 years ago when our rehearsal space was in our current building, but upstairs on the 2nd floor. And, the stairs have an almost U turn at the bottom, with a 90 at the top. I had help bringing in down when we loaded out for the show, but Sunday morning I had no help and needed it out of my truck so I could work Monday. Wrestling that 810 up the stairs was the day I decided I needed a second one to leave at home to take to gigs. And eventually had a 2nd SVT head as well. That was over 10 years ago. I have since sold both SVT 810 cabs, heads, and slightly downsized to Orange AD200, OBC 115 and OBC 210 as a big rig, but even that isn’t getting any action and is edging ever closer to being on the “for sale” list. If I get these GK cab(s) and Ashdown (or Fusion) dialed in live to my liking, there will really be no need for the full on Orange rig. Not to mention the convenience of the small, lightweight and powerful option of the Neo cabs and tiny Fusion or still small Ashdown. Boy does that Orange tube head and cabs sound glorious, but not when it’s sits covered in the garage. Problem is, it’s not likely I could get close to what I’d want for it, and, it being in excellent shape, and not being desperate, I wouldn’t let it go for insulting cheap.
