It's actually Wednesday here, but a II and a tug bar.

A couple of anecdotes, one real, one fictional that I hope you'll find entertaining-

On Monday around 9 am I got a call from the marina that a neighbor reported that my boat had a visible list and that the dingy dock is sinking-

The latter, the gift from a previous harbormaster I knew about and will haul out and get rid of in the near future-

The firstI I figured was from a recent removal of the steel 40 gallon fuel tank that had developed pinhole leaks and to be replaced by a custom-built fiberglass tank. Still I was a bit concerned. Fortunately the marina is only five minutes away-

When I arrived there was a slight list to starboard. I went aboard and checked the primary bilge pump and all was in order (I have two automatic pumps and a high water alarm).

One of my long term neighbors, the wife of a couple who lived on a catamaran on the opposite of the pier greeted me "Long time no see, how have you been?

I'm fine - just wanted to let you know that my boat will have a slight list until the new fuel tank is installed"

"Your boat has a list? I haven't noticed."

The second anecdote I'll put in the next post-

Wednesday at home for me, the Seahawks are taking over downtown Seattle today and the epicenter of the activities about a block from my job, 750,000 or more expected, I'm not braving the commute, even on the train.

Missing mine, it's at Lull's getting a check up.

Anecdote Two -

Banter between a Marlowesque private eye Steve O'Brien and his administrative assistant Lorna Doone- Lorna has just had an unsuccessful venture at the museum trying to find evidence for a series of murders, so they plan to break in after hours

Earlier Steve had made a crack about her snooping for samples of hair color, being that she's a platinum blonde-

STEVE

"Ok, we’ll meet at ten. I’ll arrive early to reconnoiter the joint."

Lorna takes a red notepad and pen out of her purse and jots down the word.

"Re- con - noi- tur. From Old French. Five dollars."

She then gives him a pert look.

STEVE

(under breath)

"The cleanest French I’ve ever used."

(to Lorna)

So what’s all this then?

LORNA

"I’m keeping a log whenever you use an uncommon or arcane word."

STEVE

"Must be short."

LORNA

"It is."

STEVE

Well, I can’t claim credit for that. one, I learned it in the military.

Lorna crosses out and rewrites in the notepad.

LORNA

"Two-fifty."

STEVE

"Two-fifty?"

LORNA

(smiles)

"Military discount."

They laugh at that.

STEVE

"So how much money have I made so far?"

LORNA

"Barely enough for a cup of coffee-- if you don’t go to Starbucks."

He chuckles and raises his cup.

STEVE

"Touché!"

If anyone has a used 2 point Gibson Hipshot they want to part with, please PM me. Here's why, I don't want to put something brand new on an otherwise well used/loved 57 year old bass. Thanks!

I made a mahogany block to fit under the bridge and bolted it down. The bass is so stable, I’ve never needed to adjust the string height in 40 years!

You know your playing is bad when you put yourself to sleep...

Actually that was at least 5 years ago when I was getting over the flu and trying to do something normal. Obviously didn't last long. May not have been long after getting the '76.
I thought maybe the song just had a few hundred bars of rests.

I've come close, particularly when I'm to learn something new-

Wonder about that tug-bar overlapping the side screw - possibly off-set from the factory? Have you removed the pg to see if there are other holes?

I haven’t removed it. Mostly because other 64s I’ve seen are the same. I think Miles was one of them. I can check when I get back.

If factory positioning of the tug-bar was anything like their cutting of the nut - there were definitely differences from bass-to-bass.
