One tine the high water alarm went off for no apparent reason- turned out that a friend's daughter had turned off the bilge pump switch. Mind you it wasn't out of malice, but still.
On another occasion I had followed a friend's well-meaning but bad advice about using modeling clay to cap holes in the deck from the bottom when you intend to fiberglass over from the top (to keep the resin from seeping down). Well, some of the clay made its way into the bilge pump impeller, causing the alarm to go off again- Better to use masking or duct tape for that-
This was a zoom of the electric panel so resolution isn't so good but you can see in the upper second row of the DC panel that I put flip protectors on all switches related to bilge pumps and a couple of others I didn't want accidentally turned off-
