I did all of these mods ( I used Lollar pickups, since the Gibson were not available at the time) to my 2014 Heritage Cherry Thunderbird. None of the mods you mention will change the value of the bass. Save the old hardware and pickups and offer to include if you ever sell it.

The Bures Band (from Oz), the second band on our company stage today for SXCL. Definite 60s influences including (I suspect) the Airplane and the Dead.
EDIT: Confirmed influences. Plus CS&N, Neil Young, etc.
After SXSW, they leave Austin for Seattle, where they play KXP!!!!!

Yep, cut the heads off and glued them to the rings.
My only slight concern is the double sided tape having some reaction with the nitro, as far as some discoloration over time.

Hey, now. Getting personal, are we?
(It turns out Tom Beech took up flute because the fingerings are close to sax -- his first instrument -- and his wife sings and plays nylon striong guitar and he could just hear flute parts with her music in his head.)
