A three knob layout is the magic number for me. I’ll do just about anything to avoid adding a fourth knob. My 3 pickup BlingBird only has three knobs (stacked) with each pickup having its own volume and control pot. I would have loved to have had a kill switch for each pickup and a master volume, but I just couldn’t bring myself to have more than three knobs.

That would be awesome. Two things to note…
1) thru body stringing may require a longer string set, it’ll add about two inches to the distance the strings need to travel.
2) if you decide to drill the holes for the thru body stringing yourself be sure to use a drill press. It’s impossible to drill four perfectly perpendicular holes in a perfectly straight line with a hand drill.

Looked up SSL interfaces, having never heard of them before- quite impressive! My first interface was a basic PreSonus AudioBox two channel model followed by an Apogee Gio and Duet 2. I later got a little one lung Focusrite for travel and the IK Multimedia AXE I/O for its ability to work with up to two expression pedals. Then there were the first gen IK Multimedia iRig.

Mind you that only the Apogee DUET 2 survived later MacOS updates. The Gio was a pedal interface where one could activate five or six virtual stomp boxes in real time, along with foot operated transport controls. But after OS Catalina, the pedal features no longer worked although it could still interface with the computer. The Mic (USB condenser) and the Jam compact audio interface stopped working after Catalina as well- a real sore point for me-

What I like about IK Multimedia is that even the first generation Irig still works as far as I know though you may have to use a Blutetooth device to interface with your phone-

But the next time I purchase a DAW interface, I'll take a hard look at the SSL - Solid State Logic - brand-

I take it that this is the one you used?

I will never have a Thunderbird that matches my Camaro, since the Camaro is bright yellow, not a Thunderbird color at all. It's about 2/3 of the way to being a self-propelled object again. I thought about putting a cowl hood on the car. The flat hood looks more right on a convertible, so it stays. It will get hood pins, mostly because I'm a dork. No stripes and no badges. Even the badge on the glove box door is coming off. It doesn't need to tell anybody what it is. It won't really be a Chevrolet any more when it's done. No logos, nothing that says what the engine is, nothing that says what model it is. I don't see any of that as necessary. It just interrupts and clutters up the lines. I have thought about putting a pinstripe along the top of the fenders, like what appears to be a white pinstripe on the green car in the photo. That is still TBD. In for a dime, in for a dollar. It's already out of control, what's a little more money, right? Like everything else I touch, it will have no resale value because it will be exactly what my quirky opinion says is good, not what anybody else likes.

If I were making my living in a band along the lines of, say, Cheap Trick, I'd have a Thunderbird in each of the primary and secondary colors. For the encore I'd bring out the fully chromed bird.

You know that is a really good question I was asking myself after refinding these tracks an listening. I think part of the reason is after the band self destructed I wanted to change the instrument into something else, and eventually just let it go. Listening back though, there is no doubt in my mind that it sounded better with the thunderbuckers. Even more of a shame since you cant get them anymore!

Oh well, next bird I get in May will get 916 or lollars or something like that (in gold) - I will make my magnum opus tbird.

In cycling jargon, on a long ride if you don't eat/drink enough you have a drop in energy and it's know as "bonking". (maybe used by runners also) A female cycling friend did a cycling tour in Australia and during a long, hot group ride she remarked "I'm bonking". All the males in the group who heard it started laughing. Means something totally different in Oz. :D

My parents had a 1972 Ford wagon with the fake wood on the side. I more or less inherited it when they bought a different car later on. It had no value except as a workhorse, so we kept it and I used it. It was pale gray-green with a green interior. The official Ford name for the color was gray-gold. It wasn't gray and it certainly wasn't gold. Somebody got paid to come up with that color name. It's a job I want. Having a perverse sense of humor seems to be a requirement, and I can certainly qualify in that regard.
