Thunderbird Club

I wasn't trying to say he was the first but when I think Flying V in metal I think polkadot Randy Rhoads
And that it wasn't ESP or Jackson etc that gave the V it's metal association.

Ahhh, yes... When I think of a Flying V, I don't think about Randy Rhoads - He's more known for that asymmetrical V abomination that Jackson made for him...

Can you guys give me the low-down on NR birds?

Whats the upper fret access like compared to a regular bird? How does it balance?

It's much better than on a Reverse TBird. "For Whom the Bell Tolls" will never be a stretching exercise again. As far as the balance goes, it feels great and I haven't felt any headstock dive in mine.

Heeeeeyyyyyy... I'm looking' at you small intestine...

I managed to talk myself into needing a tube pre to compliment my GK. I remembered seeing something on top of your rig, so I checked it out, and the search was on! I'mma hafta settle for something else I'm afraid. I've only found one for sale, and it costs more than my amp did!

There are quite a few options out there, tube and non tube.
And budget of course will predict what would you could snag.
I got a great deal on the one i got from the classifieds, so i couldn't say no.

I gotta have tubes. That's the whole point of adding something. I'm perfectly happy with the onboard otherwise. This thing looks bad as hell... but, again with the price tags! OY!!!

Who's doing the singing?

If you're a cover band, depending on whether whoever does vocals is up to it, you can do songs from bands where there are four people but one of those is a lead singer who doesn't play an instrument.

Nirvana is an obvious choice. Tool, if you can do the vocal lines at the same time as playing. "Alternative rock" is kinda hard to define. Rage Against the Machine, maybe? There's also Kyuss. Some Alice In Chains songs, System of a Down, Sleep, etc.
Thanks. Singer wants to focus on singing only.
