Thunderbird Club

That's like asking Rembrandt if he likes colouring in! :roflmao:
Well if I already knew wouldn't have asked, but I rolled the dice and assessed the risk of asking with genuine interest versus getting lip and sarcasm...and...as always...I never get let down...let them fly folks...I wear big boy pants ;-)

Lip and sarcasm? Get a sense of humour for Gods sake and have a look a few posts up at Marks work

@TBird1958 ...trains? You build them...like model railroads?

A lot more modelling and less layout construction than I should be doing.......but, yeah, if you think I'm nuts for Thunderbirds, the trains are a lifetime hobby.
My modeling focus is the mid '70s in central Utah, so everything I do fits that premise.

Anywho...I was going to share that I just went through my grandfathers train collection, he built kits as well as already built ones...its from the early 70s and I know nothing of the hobby...there is like 150 trains there plus a bunch of accessories...I thought @TBird1958 would appreciate that and maybe offer me some off-line advice ;-)

Epiphone's mailing list announced their new stuff on display at Summer NAMM. I gotta work so I can't go, so all I have is the email. It says the Vintage Pro is coming to dealers in October. Nothing in the message about the highly desirable cherreh. White, black, burpst.
"Burpst"? Is that how ya say "sunburst" after a few beerz?

And there it is, you overlooked the sarcasm in my post...see the smiley face at the end...rock on my brother of the bottom end ;-) I'm getting a double on the rocks!

And therein lies a key difference between 'British' and 'American' humour/sarcasm.

Americans (with the exception of @Dadagoboi) will signal that they are messing, whereas British people believe that if you signal that you're meaning to be funny, you may as well not bother.

OCTOBER????!!!!!!
Ugh.
Jeez... kinda looks like they're pullin' the ol' iPhone routine. Word "magically" gets out about a year before the release of each new model just to get the murmur started, then every once in a while, you'll hear something about a new feature that it will have, followed by a B.S. tentative release date. As the hype grows and the release date nears... they bump it back a little further and a little further. When they finally feel like the hype is near a piranha-like feeding frenzy level, they finally release nowhere near enough of them to meet the demand they've created, which helps keep the frenzy alive.

See, this is where I have an advantage. My Goth is still new to me!:smug:

I have an idea to toss your way, J.
Epiphone ain't droppin' that new 'bird until they're darn good-n-ready, and we have no way of knowing when that'll really be (I'm sure it will be strategically placed somewhere between now & whenever the proposed 2018 Gibson's get released so they can maximize sales of both). The market is flooded with earlier Epi 'birds right now. You could grab one for $200 - $350 (mine was only $225 & I'm planning to grow old & die with it! That's some pretty cheap lovin'). That puts you in 'Birdland now, without a huge investment, and makes the indefinite wait for the new VP much more bearable!:bassist::hyper:

(yes... I'm an enabler)

My wife is English. I have been somewhat trained. Paper trained mostly, but it's a start.
