Thunderbird Club

Epiphone purple-grey ... a bit like the cats actually. If you leave the lid open a cat will jump in and roll around on the FoxFur. Polystyrene is weird stuff - when you start cutting it you end up with more than you set out with.
Polystyrene is closely related to worms.

My Favorite! That and Glenmorangie 25.
Glenmorangie is absolutely my favorite. But, I'm sure enjoying the peaty smokiness of Laphroig these days. I'm going to see how long I can make a liter last. Maybe there should be a betting pool about that.

I have a friend who says scotch of all kinds tastes like whiskey that was filtered through an old Scotsman's oldest and least washed sweat socks. His ancestry is Irish, so whaddaya expect?

A lot more modelling and less layout construction than I should be doing.......but, yeah, if you think I'm nuts for Thunderbirds, the trains are a lifetime hobby.
My modeling focus is the mid '70s in central Utah, so everything I do fits that premise.

Jeez... kinda looks like they're pullin' the ol' iPhone routine. Word "magically" gets out about a year before the release of each new model just to get the murmur started, then every once in a while, you'll hear something about a new feature that it will have followed by a B.S. tentative release date. As the hype grows and the release date nears... they bump it back a little further and a little further. When they finally feel like the hype is near a piranha-like feeding frenzy level, they finally release nowhere near enough of them to meet the demand they've created, which helps keep the frenzy alive.

See, this is where I have an advantage. My Goth is still new to me!:smug:

I have an idea to toss your way, J.
Epiphone ain't droppin' that new 'bird until they're darn good-n-ready, and we have no way of knowing when that'll really be (I'm sure it will be strategically placed somewhere between now & whenever the proposed 2018 Gibson's get released so they can maximize sales of both). The market is flooded with earlier Epi 'birds right now. You could grab one for $200 - $350 (mine was only $225 & I'm planning to grow old & die with it! That's some pretty cheap lovin'). That puts you in 'Birdland now, without a huge investment, and makes the indefinite wait for the new VP much more bearable!:bassist::hyper:

(yes... I'm an enabler)

I'm trying not to go for plan B.
And SamAsh in NYC has a used, excellent condition Sunburst neck through for 299.
Very high action though, love it low.
But besides being a grumpy old fart, I'm a brat as well, I want what I want. Maybe there will be a local used Gibson somewhere. It's to bad that the used Ebony Gibson SamAsh has right now is a train wreck, headstock repair and gawd awful frets for 999.
My gut says ride it out instead of being the obsessive compulsive that I am.

The beautiful thing about my idea is that it doesn't "expire"

Next time he comes to your house, make sure he sees you pour a little Irish whiskey on a rag & start wiping down, well... any painted surface with it. He'll get the point;)
