I can't guarantee whatever glue was used to attach the fabric won't attack the finish. I had that problem with my '77 'bird and one of the last gen Epi cases. YMMV.
Side of the lower horn on my Bisextennial was attacked by solvent residue under the fur. Crazed the laquer. Luckily, Gisbon had slathered so much of the stuff on in their 'finishing process' of the time I was able to color sandmand buff without going thru. No such guarantee for your NR, although it is modern automotive acrylic lacquer which is theoretically more durable. Lessee, can I add any more disclaimers...?
100% cotton t shirts or handkerchiefs where necessary is what I do for my vintage stuff.
That is just more fuel for the bass-hypochonder in me. Hope the Poly is safe from colourchanges. Don'T get how you can build stuff that actually attacks the product it's supposed to protect. Why do they use so much glue in the first place?
Good exercise uploading these from my phone to Imgur.........................
Car plans taped to a lightbox, note the various sizes of strip stock. There's a finished side and a second one started, using metal straight edges and MEK applied with a small paint brush I built the car side up by adding pieces of dimensionally correct stock along with some small detail parts.

Here it's glued up, I used some cast end pieces, the large piece of square stock was used in pieces to keep the model from bowing inward.

All finished and sitting on a diorama, the photo was taken at the marina in Des Moines, WA. The prototype was constructed in the mid '60s, I have it weathered to it's mid '70s condition, never washed with the once very bright red paint oxidizing to chalky color.

Stunning. You posted some other works before, but this is like your David or Sistine chapel. Looks 100% real. How much time does such artwork consume?
Well, guess I'll just sip on this till View attachment 1177150 the vintage pro comes along.
Not much into alcoholic beverages anymore, but:
How is it compared to other Isleys? I know Ardbeg, Laphroig and Bowmore. Laphroig being my fav.
