They say that Thunderbirds are prone to neck dive. That may be true, but... Placing the upper strap button on the heel block and the lower strap button off-center (towards the E string side) at the tail has resulted in a bass that hangs in roughly the same position as my Jazz and G4 basses. That's just a generic non-grippy Planet Waves strap I had laying around, and not some big suede-backed wide leather beast of a strap. I'm calling this a success.

My very first car was one of these:
Mine was a whole lot rattier and didn't have a front bumper. It was the perfect car. No window, no radio, no heater, no power anything. The top blew off at any speed over about 30 mph. There's proabably a reason I ride motorcycles now.
I miss that car.
Holy S**t. Awesome. Engine size? SU carbs impossible to setup correctly? 6 volt generator as opposed to an alternator? Good thing electronics were minimal, because they would have been a nightmare anyway. What's not to love. I'm a practicle guy, but like you, I'd want one anyway. Just because.
Oh, SU's are easy to set up if you know how and have there right tools. SU's are some of the simplest carbs in the automotive world! I've built and set up a few!

I love Ducatis but have never owned a motorcycle.
I got into playing bass in 2012 when I bought a used Ibanez 300. It was my first stringed instrument. A few months later I bought my 2013 Gibson TBird and found this group of enablers on TB. The rest is history, a short history of TBird acquisition.
I'm no good at playing and I know it. I blame it on starting too late and the fact that I don't have the time to invest in taking it to the next level. Still I persist and enjoy playing when I can and I really enjoy playing with my kids that are way more talented than me at such young ages.
Here's one I managed to get through without screwing up too bad and I know we need a singer, LOL.
I'll keep doing it as long as it keeps being fun.
I didn't have a chance to listen until I got home this evening, just wanted to say how wonderful it is that you do this with your sons.
You're a great father to them.
My father wouldn't have ever done that, and never did.

Everyone is still playing the waiting game on these. I think the most recent update was they would be available in Sept. If I get one, its gonna be the black version.

Since we are pretty much anonamous here, I'll share this. A "very close" family member is a long time Volvo designer. Although he'll deny he ever said this, he thinks the 5 series Beemers are the best value for the money on the road today. He also thinks Subarus are great cars.
I'm ordering the Embassy, the wifey loves the cream colored one...so who am I to say no.
I'm torn. I want to wait for you all to review them, but then again, I really want one NOW. Black or white. I can't decide. I know, first world probelm for someone who needs another bass like he needs a hole in the head. The suspense is killing me.

That's not how they drive them here. They're driven like every other car here: exceptionally poorly.The history of big (car) business... Subaru's took over their utilitarian selling point and Prius's took over their owner type.(as in the slow over-cautious driver)
