Thunderbird Club

I can't vouch for the brand name, but you lefties seem to be pretty starved. This is a good lookin' neck-thru lefty that you don't need to take out a mortgage for...

DILLION USA, THUNDERBIRD, LEFTHAND, NECK THROUGH MAHOGANY NECK, NITRO ,VERY RARE | eBay

<edit>

One of the photos reveals what would appear to be a neck/body joint (something you don't typically see on a neck-thru;)). It would appear to be a set neck... but still worth a lookysee:bassist:

I have a small stash. If I had known what was going to happen with it back when, I would have a big stash of it. I'm not sure what's special enough and small enough for what little I still have. There isn't enough left to build chairs, my favorite use of it.
In the mid 80s I shared shop space in L.A. with a guy who was doing custom moldings for a high end house. He bought 3000 bf of Honduras. He let me pick through it and I built a bedroom suite from what I chose. Unfortunately, no pix.

I've got something that looks eerily close to that! If I weren't a total Luddite I'd post pictures of my Cataldo (number 50,) but I am. So y'all will just have to take my word for it that it's that color and it's gorgeous!

That 's a special one! I had a one piece blank I'd been saving for at least three years. #0050 definitely seemed the right time to use it.

Thanks, Rex!

All I need is a bass!

Good luck, Bryan. Sorry to say that I don't have an Epi at the price point you're probably looking for. In case you want to go a bit higher though, I could part with my "Dorothy" Tbird for what I paid. $400 She's a beauty but I just don't play her and she just hangs on the wall. No dings or scratches... damn near perfect. 1 of 400, I believe.

I wonder if @Larry V might be of some assistance. He's even over on your side o' the state:thumbsup:

Bryan and I have partied together and I've been to two of his shows. I highly recommend catching one when he comes to your side of the state!

20 min away. I should ask him.

I could also let the Alpine White Classic Pro go for $400 and she is damn near perfect as well.

This is the only pic I have of Dorothy(ruby red) on my phone. If you'd like to see better pics, I can take some when I get home. Let me know if you're interested, Bryan.
I was wondering what was up with the pg on that black TBird on the far right, then I stumbled upon a short scale Gibson TBird in the classifieds that looks identical. If that is a short scale how's it play compared to a long scale TBird?

It plays really nice and sounds every bit a Thunderbird since the p/ups and electronics are identical. I picked it up to replace my SG Bass, the Walnut 2014 I posted a few pages back. No regrets and that short scale is a keeper.

Hey, maybe I'll buy that lefty, change the nut out and string it up right handed then flip it for $12,000. ;)

DUUUUUUUDE! If you could make that happen you'd be the flip KING! :D

Sign the pick guard too, say some (made-up) rockstar signed it and sell it for $15,000 :roflmao:

We better keep an eye on G, don't forget, "Cap a Flipper", could be lurking about.
He's going to need 24hr protection.
