LOL - They really have an impact on you. That's cool, everybody has a their triggers. Fortunately I can take a song or two from just about anybody and it just rolls off my back. It's when an entire album is played (of certain bands) that I get agitated and start looking for the door (or sharp objects). Green Day is probably the band that I can take the least of. Just something about Billy Bob Joe John singing monotone through his left nostril for 45 straight minutes that really gets under my skin.
But on the bright side, there are a number of bagpipe songs (Amazing Grace being one of them) that just sound so perfect on that instrument. Some time ago I was at a Scottish festival in Ohio and a band called Bad Haggis played. Electric bagpipes and maybe a Hurdy Gurdy type thing along with a hard hitting drummer and solid bass player, not a bad band, interesting and different while still very mainstream and hard rock. I liked it.
I'll see your Bad Haggis and Raise you The Red Hot Chili Pipers:
There you go, Bag Pipes are a novelty act
