The week before labour day, I am taking my daughter on the most educational field trip she is likely to have during her entire elementary school experience; we are going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

We will spend a day in the museum, but have two nights in Cleveland. So, I am looking for recommendations for:

  • Interesting brew pubs at which we can dine, and
  • Anything music/bass related that we should see outside of RnRHoF.
Both preferably close to downtown/RnRHoF

The science museum is across the street, IIRC it's a really cool place. But as far as music related I got nothing.

I give up, didn't see it in the TB classifieds. So is it on ebay, or reverb, or Craigslist or GC or what?

I can only take so much of a self righteous little twit singing monotone through his left nostril. If they'd give Billy bob Joe schmuck the boot I might give their music another try, but certainly not until they pry the mike from his clammy little hands.

I don't dislike Green Day, but I agree with GBassNorth WRT the singing. But I do enjoy imitating the singing, and it is even more annoying if you do a Johnny Rotten English accent. And this lead to a discovery on my part.

I listen to a wide variety of music with my daughter (Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius XM is a goldmine). I started singing the beginning of Basket Case (do you have the time, to listen to me whine) after we heard it on LSUG. She now doesn't like Green Day. Thinking back, we never listened Frozen again after I started singing along (with slightly altered lyrics for comic effect) and there are other examples. So I have the ability to censor her music transparently by just singing along. Although I realize that this will not last forever, it could allow me to remain sane a few years longer.

I gave up trying to keep up... just can't do it without checking in multiple times a day.

As for the rides, did you see what I meant by not too many coasters but lots of virtual coasters/rides? They've got those rides down though and they are great!

I actually enjoy the virtual rides, they put you inside an episode and are the future of rides. Think we are not far from Star Trek like holo decks. I had trouble with the bigger roller coasters. I'm 6'4 and broad shouldered. I couldn't get the harness over my shoulders, so couldn't ride them. This one complaint about the park and even pro athletes have been removed from the coasters due to just being too big for them.
