SVT = 'Super Valve Technology', referring to the the use of thermionic valves. They were and remain valves. A tube is something you keep toothpaste in ... or @ProgressiveDoom keeps his balls in*.

At the moment I have neither the money nor the inclination to have the amp set up for KT88s. The reputedly wonky autobias circuit was removed by a previous owner. If KT88s are your thing, then the YBA200-2 is the obvious choice (no autobias either).
Ah no pressure, like what you like. My preference doesn't have to be yours.

Yeah I had it coming, could be worse I suppose. Just glad she is a kool Kat. I think Im a little too relaxed in here, Ive got a sense of humor that has yet to be unleashed in here because I realize that we are all not expecting to log in for the sake of twisted comedic relief, probably dont need any hecklers either. :blackeye:

Honestly I didn't look at the schematic first. But would help if they had a model number because I only know of 2 bass series made by Marshall, the all tube Amps out of the 70's era (Think Lemmy), and the MB series out of the late 2000's early 2010's (years may be off but you get the point). I have an MB150 combo and it's a hybrid amp. I think they made just a head as well but I think it's a 400 Watt. Only reason I think it's a amp head is because the various Ohm settings instead of a set resistance.

Unless they made another bass amp that I'm missing and someone else knows about.
They also had these amps, Marshall Integrated Bass System. Came in 100, 200, and 400 watt. I had a 200 watt and 2 15 inch cabs. Wasn't great. Bought mine new in 1985 or 1986. The photo isn't mine.
 
My electronics goes back to high school and that was a long time ago...

But here goes:
On the output stage, that is not a transformer but an induction coil. It operates the same way that the ignition coil in a car does. It offers changes in voltage and current (in this case output impedance) without electrical isolation. So, whereas the coil in a car is used to increase voltage to produce a spark at the spark plug, this one is to ensure that you have your full 100W available for loads of 4-16 ohms by matching output impedance to the speaker load.
Clever, but Begs the question of why they need the switch?

I guess all those times I looked into Marshall bass amps I overlooked a lot of stuff, also most of my research happened when I was between 10 and 14 so it's easy to miss stuff when you don't know what you're looking for/at. But from the sounds of it Marshall never made a memorable bass amp except the JMP Super Bass

You either need a switch or several jacks as there is no automated impedance matching that I could see. A switch is probably less error prone than plugging into the correct jack. If you were to connect a 4 ohm cab to the 8 ohm output, you would likely release the magic smoke that makes things work.
