It's getting there. Removing the battery has made a difference. Using the fliptop emulation and a little EQ, it sounds much more dynamic = acceptable.

Glad to hear it's getting closer to what you need. These settings might help as well... worked good for my Humbucker equipped basses (Warwick, Alembic), have not tried them on a Bird yet.

Based on some settings JimmyM posted some time ago, I typically run this for DI only gigs:

Level: unity
Mid: 230
Character: off (more SVT) or 1100 (more B15)
Drive: 900
Low: 1200
High: 900

I was working with a well-developed set of preconceptions -- knowing what the passive EQ curve on the Traynor looks like and 'translating' that into active EQ settings on the VT, when it isn't necessarily like for like due to differences in voicing etc.

No answer yet from the Epi Rep in Australia.

Most 60s birds seem to have had that extra button added at some point. My II hasn't. The heel was the stock button location for all Gibson basses until the Grabbers/Rippers in the mid 70s...and the BiCen birds.

I've been GASsing over a non-Bird Shaped Object lately. But there's a white Gibson TBird on Reverb right now that looks like it belongs in Canada... more specifically my house.

I disagree.
For those without the budget limitations, it offers the opportunity to shop for another `bird now and get one of these when available.

It offers the thrill of anticipation for those with a limited budget and a strong desire for the newest iteration of a Thunderbird. OK, thrill may not be quite the right word.

It is odd though - as it looks to be Korina. Did Gibson ever produce a Korina T-bird?
