Life turns on a dime sometimes.
On Thursday as I was preparing to make a 55 mile trek to check out the peavey I always wanted for the price I could front until the gig on Saturday (broke, but beginning of the month so taking out $80 for it was possible), my singer texts us saying he is quitting... We try to pull something together, I find a sub from another band I know, but the drummer doesn't want to play with a sub and the BL thinks it would be "half ass crap" so we end up canceling.
Today I got fired, why? For calling the drummer to let him know the BL is freaking out about him "not communicating" and will let him go if he didn't hear from him end of day. Yesterday, he asked me not to contact the drummer. So that was the "last straw" of me not following "direct orders" which make no sense. This has been coming for a while, it is a bummer and a relief at the same time, because I have been under a lot of stress with this guy, for a long time. He is totally unreasonable and his logic really delusional. Arguing with him is no fun, it is like being a 150iq employee who gets a 105iq "assistant manager" put in over him/her and being micromanage by someone who will not and CAN not recognize my worth. I won't go into more here as it belongs in band management.
I hope to be able to get another soad tribute together and continue to rock the white Thunderbird.
Due to my financial situation, and loss of upcoming gigs, I have decided to sell the goth and one of the hard cases.
I won't be selling it cheap though, gonna shoot for $300+ because it is a good specimin, and be willing to go down to $250 I think. There is a difference between these older MIKs and the current MIC versions.
If the classic pro fits in the newer style case (I'm sure it will, it is only about 1/4" longer, maybe 3/8" longer than the goth, and all epiphone cases should fit all epiphone thunderbirds).
I can live with only one bird for now, the goth served its purpose, and I am not currently in a system tribute anymore. And that classic pro steals the show away from the goth for sure (for me at least, even though the goth is pretty sweet feeling and sounding, I just can't justify keeping both now).
My peavey collection is complete for now, 2 split p Furies with different generations of pickups/components, and both SF and VFL loaded foundations.
If I get another bird it will probably be another neck through.
The daddario xls that came on the classic pro will go on the goth for sale. I always keep my heavy strings and reuse them. And I will re setup the goth for standard tuning and low action.
The end of an era. And I will probably have to use some of the sale proceeds to pay for rehearsal space for auditions if I can't find a drummer with a place to play.
Hopefully this doesent set me in a slump. It might if I can't find the right guys or band(s)

Man, that really sucks. Sorry hear that. So stressful. Nothing I love more than being in a band, but god damn it’s a major pain in the ass at times.

Never understood why being in a band is such a hassle. All those people who act like they're so different, because the play music. Most of them are just self absorbed, controlling wannabes who want to appear cool in front of an audience.

I wish that was all it took. I'm politically and financially challenged. I certainly don't have the money for startup expenses and.rehearsal fees
And the guys I was playing with were still not quite pro caliber, and the other system tributes in the area don't pull it off well. So the singer and the guitar/2nd vocal parts are hard to find guys who can do it. I reached out to one of the former drummers though. We'll see where that goes.
My crystal ball sees the T-bird body style votes going up a few rungs on that poll
