I lived/played in Chicago for 10 yrs (late 70's-late 80's) and it has always had a vibrant and diverse music community.

Phoenix and Tempe used to have very active music scenes, as did Tucson. Hasn't been that way for a while tho. Lots of cover bands around, but original music seems to have a hard time getting any real exposure anymore.

I saw tons and tons of great bands in San Diego, both national and local acts. After a long while of searching I think I've got some avenues to find out who's playing in this area. Only took nine years. I finally saw a show for the first time since I moved here earlier this year: Veridia, an up and coming band local to Nashville who are ridiculously catchy, Demon Hunter, my favorite band in the world, and Red, also from Nashville but a world wide touring band. I need some more of that...with my band on the bill. :D

Can you play soul music on a Thunderbird? Why yes, yes you can. This is JD's Rock and Soul Band.

You are looking at the 2014 Champions of the Surfer, the Bar Battle of the Bands at Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu.

Every month they had a battle of the bands, and each quarter they chose a winner for that quarter. We won the second quarter, and tonight was the finals for 2014.

Today my Schaller Strap Locks arrived and the nipple that mounts to back of the neck will NOT work!:( The replacement screws are all over an inch short, and a totally different diameter (smaller). So that should be an easy fix, drill out the new nipple to accommodate the old screw, brilliant idea! Nope! The head of the screw is to big to fit inside the throat of the hole... No Lockie-Lockie for Klondike. Anybody have a good ideas? Have any of you run across this? Thanks.

I have black Dunlops on my T-Bird no mods on screws I use them on all my basses they come on MTD and Sadowskys so they must be Ok. You can also glue a tooth pic in the hole to make up for the size difference. I do have Schallers on my Rickenbacker they were pressed in so I didn't screw with them. The nut that holds the strap part of the Schallers backs off sometimes so I use a little red lock tite to keep it snug.

I use Dunlops on all my basses - never had fitment issues. There's a guy selling nice hex-head bolts to fit them on ebay which is ideal. (included philips-head screws are easy to strip)

I was kinda hoping to avoid the toothpick trick on a brand new bass and doubly because it's ine of the four holding the neck in placeMaybe that is the answer though. How does Rickenbacker press them in? That would be super cool!(love Rick's btw). Thank you for your input I really appreciate it.

The recessed ones are cool (for a custom bass) but not if you don't want to drill the bore that large to fit the inset - the standard looking ones are the best because you can still use them w/a standard strap.

I don't think receded would be possible as I have to deal with the neck plate on the back of the body. However the other one is possible. I will defiantly check on them.
