Thunderbird Club

WOW!!! She's wildly talented... and I gotta give her mad props for being able to sing like that while playing clever bass lines over complex time sigs! I'm just not particularly fond of her flavor of jazz. Incredible musicianship though!

Seeing this vid, I just imagined being in the audience in that cool old urban setting in San Sabastian listening to that music. Hard to beat that.

Here you go.

Just before you posted this, I was checking out a video of hers on YouTube. She was sittin' there with a drum machine & a looper, just fiddlin' around having fun. I really enjoyed that so much more than the song you posted. She is obviously extremely talented, but listening to her recorded track... in my opinion... was really disappointing. It sounded like everything but the bass, came from a bad 1980's Casio keyboard and a laptop computer. I will say the same thing about her, that I say about Ariana Grande. She is so much better than her music allows her to be. I'm gonna look around & see if I can find her playing anything other than Funk/Pop. Usually... when someone of her calibre steps outside their comfort zone... good things happen!

I have a hard time comparing Beck & Frampton. Their approaches are so different. When Jeff Beck picks up a guitar, he sez, "Let's see what I can get outa this thing". When Frampton picks up a guitar, he knows exactly what he's gonna get out of it and does it to the best of his ability.

Which albums did you get?

No albums. A triple CD with alot of songs. As said no chance buying used albums by said bands.

one of my favorites

My favourite Bowie song, same gig:

A while back I mentioned one of the former bandmates I want nothing to do with had contacted me out of the blue ... and been ignored. Turns out as suspected, they were doing some reunion gigs. My dad was leafing through the national TV guide and saw a photo he thought looked like me .... and it was, not that the article mentioned me at all.

If you want to improve the chances of a reunion with your estranged former bass player, it's not advisable to write a book slagging them in gruesome detail.

There is a lot more going on here than I realized, not asking for an explanation.
