Damn! That Jeff Beck is one lucky 7-er! :bassist:

He is. And what's amazing is that Tal could be his granddaughter. She is absolutely fabulous and yet another example great Aussie talent. Rock has a way of bridging the generations. That's why I'm not a grumpy old man...

Yeah, that Jeff Beck guy can play. Too bad he has the same barber as Nigel Tufnel. I saw him many years ago with Stevie Ray Vaughn. The encore/finale was really something With Beck, Vaughn and Jeff Healy on stage together.

Tal is a great player. Then I listened to some of her solo material and it was terrible. It demonstrates that playing and composing are different and unrelated skills.

Off topic:

Is there any way to specify a search for pictures/media posted by members/certain members, without going through the whole thread manually?
I don't believe so, you can search for posts from a specific person in the search bar up top, and if you can remember a standout word they used in that post it'll make it a lot easier. But I don't think you can search or view just pictures that were posted.

Many years ago when I was in the Army, on exercise we went to Resolute Bay; the most northern community in Canada. For fans of Top Gear, it is where Jeremy James and Richard started from when they drove to the north pole. They sold T-shirts there that read Resolute Bay NWT - It's not the north pole, but you can see if from here.

That makes it quite useless if you're searching for a specific picture someone posted here... :(

I have a shirt from a town in Pennsylvania that reads "Intercourse, between Blue Balls and Paradise" which is actually geographically correct, it's a small Amish town/city.

Good news all round here:

Yesterday, no pain until I made dinner (moving heavy pots/pans, what was I thinking? Oh yeah, making dinner for my daughter, that is what I was thinking). I also changed dressing and wow - that surgeon does some of the nicest stitches I have ever seen. I picked up a bass but, fingering was a little problematic. Then L&M called to let me know that my JC was ready to pick up. Turns out that the buzzing was a result of frets that needed levelling. That reinforces my bias against made in China basses (bias, not rule).

So on today's agenda - play the JC! Have I mentioned that the JC is really awesome? I think that I may well be good for fretting today. If not, maybe it is time to learn to play left handed for a couple of weeks? Just a short session - a few minutes at a time.

WRT the dressing change, any who say "pictures or it didn't happen" will be disappointed. I have pictures but won't publish them - they are exclusively for my own enjoyment.

There are all sorts of variables with mail deliveries to Australia, eg the 2 pedals I bought off Reverb which took over a month to get through the Australian postal system at Christmas. How that all is going to affect things when the Govt starts taxing everything coming into the country is anyone's guess.

New Zealand now only has mail deliveries 3 days/week.

Oddly enough, considering the NZD is worth less than the AUD and the market is even smaller (4m vs 24m), a lot of gear in NZ seems cheaper than it is at home.
So then how much are you stocking up on?

I agree - Great picture, but most likely Photoshopped... :)
Yeah. My guess is that that girl would likely be lunch.

One thing you could do is bookmark posts with photos that you like. Not sure how much you can keep, though.

Hah! I always felt Nigel's character/looks were based on Jeff Beck! Yah, I planned to go to see/hear JB & SRV in Dayton OH and something came up to prevent me from doing so - SRV died not to long after that. I don't have Tals solo recordings but seeing/hearing her live w/her band sounded pretty cool. As she has many years ahead of her I trust she'll mature as a composer. :)

Got a Small Faces collection coming my way. Mostly ignored them before. Only got one Pie album aswell, but all faces albums. Both Small Faces and Humble Pie albums are hard to come buy if you buy used. :meh:
Prefer Marriott over Stewart, but Beck definately over Frampton.
I have a hard time comparing Beck & Frampton. Their approaches are so different. When Jeff Beck picks up a guitar, he sez, "Let's see what I can get outa this thing". When Frampton picks up a guitar, he knows exactly what he's gonna get out of it and does it to the best of his ability.

Which albums did you get?
