Thunderbird Club

They appear to have been wrapped around the posts of a lefty bass- yep, facing the opposite direction I'm used to seeing.

Got 'em on now, no issues!
Ah, so Gibson did actually put on “left-handed” tuners. People make a big deal about it, but all I ever know is that one way tightens and one way loosens. Glad you were able to reverse them!

Sure. I just got them on now, will be using them this weekend, at a reggae gig and at psyche-band practice. I'll post a little run-down.

They feel pretty good though just giving them a run up the neck, doing a little tv-time style riffing... the 100 gauge E-string is different if you're used to a 105, but that's good for those low bends...

Funny, that’s the last 100 I used. All since have been 105.

He is. And what's amazing is that Tal could be his granddaughter. She is absolutely fabulous and yet another example great Aussie talent. Rock has a way of bridging the generations. That's why I'm not a grumpy old man...

For sure MCF - I saw Tal here in SF at my favorite venue "The Great American Music Hall" fronting her own band and she was sensational! Music is ageless! (or at least it should be!):bassist:

Thanks for that one, Fix! They have a new Spotify subscriber. Good stuff.

Darn, sorry to hear this.

I've had Johnny Winter's version of "Johnny B. Goode" stuck in my head. Could be worse...

I have had tool stuck in my head since going to the show that we were supposed to headline but cancelled when the singer quit.

The tool tribute tooligans was SPOT on.

I was the only one from the band to show up, even though I wasn't a member anymore by then.

@theFixer , thanks, the knobs arrived, great way to pack them! The package would have had to been run over in order to damage them.

No bites on the goth yet. I simplified the ad and lowered the price to $280. I know it is a tough market and I am doing precisely the thing I complain about (overpriced bolt on epiphones), but not as extreme as others, and I am including a case.

That was my goal;)
I've been learning a whole new appreciation for those things. They're air-tight, water-proof, and nigh indestructible!

Your price is in the ballpark. Hell... I've seen worse deals than that, on Goth's in worse condition! The "under $350" market offers a pretty narrow margin to try to work with. The difference between a good deal & a bad deal can be like, 20bux. Ya gotta start somewhere...

I actually keep rubbing alcohol in a pill bottle in my gig bag, for string cleaning. Hasn't leaked yet.

Because I tend to hoard things that could have some uses, and because of identity theft (info on labels), I don't throw mine away, I've got a large pile of them.

Gibson 120th Anniversary Thunderbird Bass *Prototype 2014 Cherry

This popped up on my Facebook stream, they know too much about me. It mostly shows me old Peaveys, but birds are a #2.

Kinda pricey, but what do you all think?

Like a 2015 but a 2014 anniversary model.
That one's already been a guest on our show;)
If memory serves... it was generally well received, but was harshly criticized for the placement of the mini-toggles and the size of the price tag.

Ahhh the Winter #3, when it's -high-teens to -low twenties, hoodie and shorts kinda weather. Just nice enough to take the Polar bear out for ride a couple more times, if it's a really nice year you might even get to go out on the Walrus one last time.

Bear??? Walrus??? What are you talking about...?

One "Pie video", comin' up!;)

Got a Small Faces collection coming my way. Mostly ignored them before. Only got one Pie album aswell, but all faces albums. Both Small Faces and Humble Pie albums are hard to come buy if you buy used. :meh:
Prefer Marriott over Stewart, but Beck definately over Frampton.

Damn! That Jeff Beck is one lucky 7-er! :bassist:

Speaking of the devil. That woman irritates me - not in a positive way. Don't know why.

Some of the most boring music imaginable.

Like Motorhead a lot, but not really fond of either of the other two.

Boring wasn't my reaction. It's definately not something I could let run in the background.
Too bad about the Aussies, my guitarist shares your opinion.

Was that what you expected? Just curious about how feasible it is for getting stuff from overseas.

There are all sorts of variables with mail deliveries to Australia, eg the 2 pedals I bought off Reverb which took over a month to get through the Australian postal system at Christmas. How that all is going to affect things when the Govt starts taxing everything coming into the country is anyone's guess.

New Zealand now only has mail deliveries 3 days/week.

Oddly enough, considering the NZD is worth less than the AUD and the market is even smaller (4m vs 24m), a lot of gear in NZ seems cheaper than it is at home.
