No hihat and riding a crash? Or the cutlery grip on the sticks?

Moonie seldom used HiHats on his kits, and he was lip-synching (drum-synching?). Trying to not play drums, is actually harder than actually playing them... especially for a wild man like him!No hihat and riding a crash? Or the cutlery grip on the sticks?
Moon never played a hi hat, cutlery was optional, and all his toms were tuned to the same pitch. No wonder he sucked. No hihat and riding a crash? Or the cutlery grip on the sticks?

Yes... it's my understanding that, considering Keith Moon as your friend and colleague, came at a price.Read somewhere, Townshend saying Moon was about to be sacked from the Who, but died. Townshend said they were sick of teaching him how to play like Keith Moon again everytime they went into the studio/on tour.

Yes... he was a party legend that party legends looked up to, which is all fun times & great stories on the surface... but I imagine it musta been hell on those who had to get him from A to B on a daily basis.I read a rather lurid biography by his former roadie, personal assistant, something ... and it sounded like it was a marvel he could play at all, so prodigious was his uptake of intoxicants.
I agree, except my quote/multiquote went bye bye a little while agoThis website works just as well on an iPhone using the Safari browser as it does on a desktop computer running Windows. No issues quoting, multi-quotes, uploading images...

Well if you're in a band you gotta be good at something, I guess his thing was partying… unless you're a bassist…Yes... he was a party legend that party legends looked up to, which is all fun times & great stories on the surface... but I imagine it musta been hell on those who had to get him from A to B on a daily basis.

The TB site can do some weird things in text fields on a touch screen. Pro tip: copy the text out of the field into Notes, or whatever text editing app you like, do what you need, then paste it back into TB and send.
Yeah... that's great man. Hey... could ya do me a solid? I need you to go stand over there & hold this in front of you for a minute...

I keeeeed, I keeed... I don't care what strings yer usin', so long as yer smilin' when yer doin' it![]()
Ya know sup'm man... you are wwwaaaayyyyyy too hard on yourself, pretty much all the time! It seems like about 2 out of every 3 of your posts, your doggin' yerself for one thing or another. I feel confident that everyone here... all the way up to Queen Veronica herself... thinks more highly of you, than you do of yourself. Listen man... the world is full of people who can navigate their cellphones like a pro. Nobody cares! If I were sick, I feel like you'd bring me a bowl of hot soup. If I were in trouble, I feel like you'd have my back. If you saw a kid fall & scrape their knee, you'd be the first guy to show up with a band-aid. You are a good person, and I'm fortunate to be able to rub elbows with you here. To us, you are a bright spot. YOU are the only person that focusses on whatever insignificant dark spots might exist. Knock it off!Give me the obvious, and I'll screw that up.
Moonie rules! And a Jazz bass.... hah!![]()
I, and probably most if not everyone here, feels there is no reason to apologize for that. It was all in good fun.Ok. I formally, and sincerely apologize for any rhetoric regarding flat wounds and a Bird.
{This just took a weird turn. I'mma sit back here behind you & wait to see where this is goin'. If it gets ugly, I'll slip out the back so no-one will notice}I, and probably most if not everyone hear, feels there is no reason to apologize for that. It was all in good fun.

}Surgery today; left hand. Right hand in two weeks.
Going to be interesting as I have not cancelled my lesson Tuesday night. I did warn the teacher. We will work on rhythm exercises and other non-playing things.
