Thunderbird Club

Aww listen Bro, its like a friggin' fairy tale for real. I was the first guy to respond to the ad posted for the Traynor and I told the seller I could not get to him for 3 days, the price was ridiculosly bargain basement and he agreed to hold it but he never took off the ad and I feared that some big greasy mover and shaker was going to slide into the sellers head with the whole "Hey man I'll give you ten dollars more than the chump your holdin' for is paying" and it would be gone without me. The seller was true and I brought it home immediately with this great big childlike grin and giddiness I plugged in and set the volume immediately to 5 and after 10 minutes I literally stood back and stared at this monster as I was shaking like I had been through a traumatic experience. 3 hours later I felt nervous just thinking about the whole experience. This 1970's 325 watt beast makes my 1977 Yamaha B100 and 1999 Peavey Mark3 sound like childrens introduction to music instruments. This is by far the greatest bass piece of amplification I have ever known, at my jam practice I had to turn my volume down from 3 to 2 because we couldnt hear our guitarist. Sounds like my 1973 Traynor 15 watt tube but 100 times louder. How bout that sweet new EB3?, all fresh in love about it right now, like to customize me a Tort guard for it. View attachment 2768460
Damn dude!!! Yer doin' awright there son!

That's gotta be sorta encouraging...
I feel like a spoilt child who can't get what he wants, WHY CAN'T I GET ONE YET!!! :bawl:

None of the UK stores as far as I'm aware are saying when they are coming in, only 'available to order' and 'there is no ETA for this item'. I've checked most days, and my face has gone from this :(, to this :bored:, then this :sour:, then this:mad:, and now this :meh: (because I've got used to seeing 'ETA' all the time).

But at least I've got some Thunderbirds to play with to pass the time :D. (I think this is the most emoji's i've ever used in a single message, including text. Ha ha.)

Well... if it makes you feel any better... everybody here... except for that one guy... feels the exact same as you;)

Take one day off this forum to go to a music festival and BAM! you're 14 pages behind.

Sooo... anything significant happen while I was gone?
Good thing you didn't take Tuesday off!
It's kinda like missing that one day at school, it seems like EVERYTHING happens that day. There's a fight in the cafeteria, there's free pizza, @ProgressiveDoom comes back, someone got stabbed, ye'know all the cool stuff :roflmao:

Did you save the kill switch? I would be happy to take that off your hands.

I told him to make sure it's in the case when he's done, promised me it would be. I'm going to hold on to it but if something catastrophic ever happens to the bass the switch is yours.

Are they replacing that pickup screw that looks all rusted?

Didn't ask him to, I'll do it at some point. Good observation!

Thunderbucker pickups on the way, Badbird II bridge on the way, the hipshot store was closed but I will call them on Monday and hopefully tuners will soon be on the way, looking forward to upgrading my bird! :D

Cool! If it isn't too much work snap a few pics of the process as you go. I think you'll really like Scott's bridge!

Any of you Seattle-area people had any beer from Holy Mountain Brewing?

Ken, I haven't hear of it but that's not surprising at all as there's an overabundance of beer here. I will try to find some for you if you like.

The Queen is not exaggerating!

It may be hard to imagine, and I'm not complaining mind you... But there is SO MUCH beer in these parts. The little former Mill Town I work in has 3 Tap Rooms (100 + taps between them, easy) A Brew Pub, with a 2nd under construction and 3 or 4 craft brewers in the industrial park. This in a bedroom community of 22,000, about 20 Min from PDX.

It would be a full time job to keep track of it all.

I'm not complaining.

Way cool is all I can say Prog, love it!
Nice score on the EB3 as well.
Glad you're back bro.

I dont think I have enough time to read 7000 pages, family, band, sports and work life wont allow me enough hours in a day. What are some hilites?, Kat came out of the closet and professed her true love for tort?. Fixer hooked himself up with the biggest and baddest badass neck you ever seen on a Thunderbird?. JJR58 pimped out his Thunderbird in chrome everything?. Cataldo bought the rights to Thunderbird and our Queen is now the official Representative/Pinup Model?. What else did I miss?. Thanks for being glad to have me back, Its cool checking in to see so many of you die hards keeping the wheels rolling. Ill try tuning in more now that my part of the country goes into frozen oblivion for the next 7 months:bawl:.

Not all chromed out just yet, but getting there. I so love my Epi Bird.
