T-bird Lovers, Custom strap for sale.
Hope it's not a problem posting this teaser here but it seemed appropriate that someone here might be interested.
Here's my link to a hand-made Thunderbird strap, circa early 1970s. One-of-a-kind with a hand-tooled logo.

Though those roots grow deep, it's easier than it sounds. Just stop over-thinkin' stuff! I have a challenge for you. The next time you walk into a music store, and every time thereafter... take the time to pick up at least one item that you normally would never even look at twice... something you're not even shopping for... be it a bass, amp, pedal, or what-have-ya... plug it in & sit down with it for a moment. Don't worry about the brand name or price tag (I mean... who cares? You're not buyin' it anyway... right?). Just introduce yerself and sit down & chat a spell. It usually turns out at least being fun if nuthin' else:thumbsup:

You say that as if it were a bad thing.

Which is gain and mids dimed. Both ultra low and ultra high switches off.

Also the cab makes a big difference, as I'm sure you're aware. An SVT sounds way different through my Sunn 2000S 2x15 cab or my friend's Marshall VBC-412 than it does through the Ampeg 810.

I do think the V4 sounds a little better, though.

One thing I’ve definitely found with the Thunderbird is that EQing it is very different than any other bass I’ve had. Every other one similar enough amp/pedal settings that it just took little tweaks, but the Thunderbird requires rethinking often.

I am not sure about other brands, but at Seymour Duncan, there is something called the Custom SHop which fabricates pickups on a custom basis. It might be a specific wind, or a weirdo form factor, but if no one else makes what you want, we can build it.
