Thunderbird Club

No need Geoff, I was being a bit cheeky really. Didn't really expect any takers. I'll have to see about the GTG. Work is going to consume pretty much my whole life from now until Jan or Feb though I think.
Ok. GTG is out West a way this year. Usually a good time chatting and trying stuff (I’m normally too shy to try much :( )

Yo Fix - you're going about this solder sucker all wrong. Everyone knows the wildest brainstorms come after about 6 beers. So sit down turn on the tube to a NASCAR race knock back a few beers and see what crazy solution comes to mind.

6 beers later...
Hey ya'll watch this - I figured a way to suck that solder off my pot... here, hold my beer. Now watch closely while I get the iron good and hot and suck on this ice cube to get my lips good and cold. The way I figure it, once that solder is melted if I'm real fast and suck real hard then spit it out real quick I'll be good to go.

Yep! That should do it! :roflmao:

'floptop'

on the other hand, substantial financial inducement would be required for me to accept a svt
If someone was handing me a good condition tube amp, I’d have a hard time saying no. Even if it needs retubing.
Well someone wouldn’t just hand an SVT over but you get the point.

Hell if someone handed me a 7ender MIA(maybe a MIM) Jazz that had no electronics I’d take it. Chances are I would route it for TBird pickups or something though.

Rep says 'Not yet. Info coming soon' on the Gibson Ltd run '18 Thunderbirds.

I sent a follow up to my Sweetwater Rep yesterday, they've backed off on a date as of now.
Just remember there's other Thunderbirds to play and Single Malt Scotch (or whatever you like) to drink in the meantime.

Nothing but the finest in brown bags & vapor trails:D

Does anyone here on a Fernandes MV65NS? Ya know, the reverse spector copy? I picked up one cheap and I'm reversing a reverse, so righting it if you will. Looks like a brass nut on it. I'm going to have to find a replacement (the eBay guy kinda sux) and I need the nut width (length) on those.
Sorry, no info, but I just looked that one up and good for you. It will look awesome. Sometimes lefties right the world.

I just took a minute to see if I could find that nut width. The only thing I found, was that this a tough model to get info on!

Sounds like a cool project! I'd like to see a pic when ya git'r done:thumbsup:

Not sure what I'll do finish wise but it'll still be single vol, EMGs and possibly another set and forget Haz preamp. I have good Schaller tuners, just need a new nut and bridge. I'll have the control cavity and new jack hole routed so I'll be true lefty.

Definitely will do. I've need another bass to go with my skull bass so this is it. For $300 at that!

It seems like you keep yourself pretty busy. Were you around to see or hear about @BklynKen and his latest reversal? If not... maybe he'd post a pic for ya. It's a kinda big deal (or at least it is in MY opinion)...

EXCELLENT deal BTW:thumbsup::hyper::bassist:

Dang, I need a love button, the like button is an understatement!
Sleek and deadly looking. I've never tried a fan fret bass but the concept is cool. I don't have any problem jumping from 4 string to 5 string or thin neck to fat neck or short scale to extended scale, but I have to admit the fanned fret thing is intimidating. I know you're a Spector guy (as am I), do you find it tough to bounce back and forth between regular and fanned frets?
I'm probably the quantifiably worst bassist on all of TB and certainly in the TBC. It took me all of 30 seconds to adjust to fanned frets, and it only took that long because I spent almost 17 seconds expecting it to be harder than it is. I was in my own way at first, thinking it was complicated when it isn't.

My liver doesn't give a crap, but my taste buds would most likely pack up & leave if I threatened 'em with that elixir of the damnedo_O:eek::dead:
