I got the 63 set. So far, I like them. I haven’t gotten to play my bass very much since picking it up yesterday but so far I like them. I will do a more thorough review after I play them live etc.
Carlo - if you keep this $hit up I'm gonna break down and buy something from you! Can you just once post a pic of a complete flop, butt ugly hack job you've done so I can get my GAS in check, pretty please! I can't take much more of this Bird porn.

To put out a sound like that within a hour after opening the box says a lot about the quality of the bass and setup as well as the competence of the player! And I totally agree - 86.42% of all bass demos suck because they are all popping and slapping or played by a guy who is a guitard from a music shop playing a bass like he's never seen one before.

Looking forward to it. The closer the 63s are to the strings the better they'll sound...3/16" maximum IMO. YMMV.

what's your opinion about the pickups?
i wanna change the stocks and i'm leaning towards to Lollar too, but i don't know what i'm doing.
I'm may not be the one to ask. But i'll give it a shot. I love the Lollars, very smooth and even all across the tonal spectrum, they don't favor a certain frequency. What i like mostly about them as compared to the TB's is that, they are crisper sounding, more crunch. more in the upper mids and top end. They are very articulate. I can't say how they compare to Thunderbuckers or Lull's though.

Love the song choice, SO Seattle! It's funny because L.A. is a short plane trip down the coast but their brand of '80s/'90s rock/metal just didn't quite take hold here, Queensryche was our answer to it, maybe just a bit more sophisticated musically and lyrically. Operation Mindcrime is still a fave of mine, the bass tone is great!
Very cool that you're in a band that plays that song.
