On a related topic - I need to buy an extra large ceiling fan for a 30' tall cathedral ceiling in my living room. It's gonna be a bear to install (I'll leave that to a professional) but even more of a pain to fix if it ever breaks. With that in mind, do you have a recommendation on an ultra reliable brand I should be looking at?

Yes, Casblanca and Minka Aire. Both are good quality and have some interesting styles, don't waste money on a light kit and if possible a wall switch to control it instead of a hand held remote - much more reliable. Yes, I can help you buy one at a good price too!

I make you nervous
I had to help a lady out to her car with several boxes on a hand truck and had to bend over and get them into the back of her car, it got a little breezy and I accidently gave all the drivers on southbound I-5 (which the store faces out to) a bit of a free show.
Quick progress report on the FrankenGoth...
Finally got a day to myself and some time to work on the Goth. So today I "ebonized" the rosewood neck. It needs to dry for a day before I wipe it down with a moist cloth and hit it with 0000 steel wool to remove any excess dye (actually its black India ink). So tomorrow I should have a better feel for how effective this process is. Fingers crossed.
I also cleaned up the pup routing, installed Copper shielding in the pup cavities, installed the Bartolini pups (need different screws, these aren't a large enough diameter so the pups rock a bit when you rest your thumb on them), routed the body and installed a battery box, drilled out a side jack and installed a stereo barrel jack, drilled the coil tap switch hole and installed the toggle switch, shielded the control cavity with copper tape and plugged the factory screwed up fifth neck mounting hole in the body and the neck.
The Aguilar OBP-2 pramp came in, so I might get time tomorrow to do all the wiring, reinstall the neck, and give her a spin (inbetween painting the dining room and kitchen floor board trim). The end is in sight, at least on the meat of the project. The potatoes - (custom designed leather pickguard and truss cap and custom cut pup trim rings) will be the next phase.
Word to the wise - the trial and error route (pot shootout, cap shootout, multiple switching options tested, passive vs active test, pup transplant, etc) wasn't the cheap route to go, but it's been fun and might just create a real gem out of the lump of coal black Goth.

It's disappointing that the VPs are in the wild and there's virtually nothing online about them -- no real-use clean/moderately overdriven sound samples or videos. To mod or not to mod, that is the question.

Anyway, next time the queen boss is handing out numbers, can I please have one? I've a "humble" Epi Classic Pro (and a Vintage Pro on order)..... Although the Classic has been "upgraded" with Hipshot Supertone bridge and Schaller M4-90 Light tuners..... (Sorry, for the "crap" photo.)
