Have you been combing through the local ads and epay?. Im always looking for something from my bucket list of past gasses. Ive always kept my eyes open for a local BC Rich Mockingbird bass but havent seen one and I look everyday. It may not be a bad thing since every youtube video Ive ever seen of one sounded like . But!, if one came up I would move on it for the right price. Loooove that body styledrool

In that order, I never noticed the club till @TBird1958 caught my eye. There she was in her avatar with a Bird, I dared to enter. And along with @JIO, @hillerup, @Gaolee, @GBassNorth and @kat888. They really all set me straight. And on the narrow path....
Pretty green when I bashed my way in. And everyone was patient and guided me through to the way of the Bird.

Dude, you need a compressor! The Diamond BCP-1 is the model I 'endorse' but prolly isn't great for slap/limiting.

Ok, hive-mind. I’ve been doing some bridge adjustments on the classic pro recently and, surprise surprise, have had some issues with the inserts popping out when re-tensioning the strings. It’s stable and ok now, but i’m Considering putting in a hip shot replacement.
If and when I do, will I need to do the cocktail stick trick to make sure the inserts are securely in the body or does the hipshot come with new inserts? Sorry if this is a stupid question!

From what I've heard from others with Epi's, if you have the front of the bridge raised up, it'll stop pulling the inserts. It also can help with the break angle of the strings.
I have no useful knowledge for the Hipshot bridges though

The Hipshot comes with new bolts for the existing inserts. It's a direct drop-in.

At this juncture I'd like to say, never have I encountered such a gang of enabling reprobrates. Implanting GAS bubbles everywhere. @BklynKen deserves a special mention in this regard, although @JJR58 doesn't help.

I have a lot of fun with this one, the Electro Harmonix Pitch Fork:

It's not designed for bass but it only really sucks on the E string. It's fun to set it to 'up one octave', turn on the distortion and whip out Twisted Sister guitar solos on a bass.

Excessive effects pedals are how I keep myself entertained in the basement and out of rock and roll bands.

Expensive as the dickens though. Geez.
