Something tells me that wouldn't be the case.
There are these new things called "motion pictures", and someone told me that the mad scientists figured out a way to add sound to them too!!
No, no, Mike..... Nothing to do with you, or anything you said. I re-read the words in my original post that I used to describe my own personal experience of 9/11. Believe me, "deranged" was not the first thing I wrote to describe the people who did what they did on that day. My original prose (that was edited out before posting) was somewhat stronger and more descriptive, but not wishing to offend anyone else on faith or political grounds..... and let's just say, after contemplation, and much re-writing, "deranged" was the best I could offer without running into issues with forum rules, or upsetting anyone who might hold different views. How I'd describe those people and their actions in private, as you could probably guess, wouldn't be suitable for prime time television and would most certainly risk debate about topics not permitted here.... But on the other hand, I didn't want anyone to think I was trivialising what happened on that day..... Ooooh, a couple of deranged people crashed an airplane or two.... Which does rather trivialise what really happened..... If that makes sense! At this point, I'm probably digging myself into a hole, so I leave it there.

I didn't think I had to explain that one, but movies are/were called "motion pictures" because all a movie is, is a series of pictures played at a given speed.
Well, some of us (of a certain age) still list going to the "pictures" as a hobby!

I think I've spent too much time staring at pictures of Oingo Boingos today. I think I'm in love. (And I've probably got more chance of buying one than the unicorn, aka the Epi Vintage Pro.)

The DeepSixx pickups are wired for a hotter output than the standard TB+ pickups on the regular bolt-on Thunderbirds.
TB+ pickups are supposedly around 12 kOmhs (haven't measured mine), whereas the DeepSixx pickups are 12.4 kOmhs (neck) and 16.4 kOmhs (bridge) respectedly - At least the two sets that I have measured like that...

I was the same with the Pro-IV/Pro-V and the Classic Pro-IV - They too were announced and didn't ship for ages... I remember only too well, it took a little over 6 month before the Pro's started showing up in the stores.
What is curious, (given the well publicised financial difficulties at Gibson), Epi having announced products something like a year ago, which have elicited comments aplenty from people wanting to buy one, that Gibson/Epi haven't actually figured out a way of making them available to purchase outside of Canada. Jeez, no wonder they are losing money hand-over-fist.......

Checker Cabs were built less than a mile away from the Gibson plant in Kalamazoo that closed in '86.

Last I read, they were using that Blackwood Tec, (artificially hardened pine), for the fretboards to avoid CITES. Maybe that was just for the Embassy. Not sure.
