Should the VP pups be disappointing, the Thunderbucker 66S will likely be transplanted to the VP, which will become yet another II. The Epi will then get an Alumitone, which would satisfy that particular avenue of intrigue.

I plugged it in and tapped on the pups and got sound so the electronics aren't fried. Didn't check truss rod though. Overall looks like it's in good condition. But the icing on the cake is I got to tell my dad "Atoadaso"!

@PillO I actually have 2 FSO basses, only 1 with tort though (EDIT: 3 if you include EBMM StingRay)

Beautiful bass... Still kicking myself for not buying one before they went out of production... At least I got one of the Ebony ones later on. :)

Thanks! I'm surprised that place had such a low price tag on it! They have a beat up Goth bird for $250 there! But this thing is mint besides the missing bridge and 3 screws for the E-string tuner.

(I didn't want to pull a Fixer this time ;))

At least I got 2 out of 3 right: It was an Epi, and it was Alpine White... :)

Really pleased for you ... and a little bit jealous. Your father didn't say 'you already have N basses'?

Well... After all, it's basically useless without the bridge... ;)

I also have a couple of spare 3-point bridges lying around for the same thing... ;)

Thank you! Nope, actually he went in that store by himself first, then came and told me about the bass.
Ironically, early today he was saying he'd rather me get an EB-3 or something before another Thunderbird. He meant a vintage EB-3, but I still had to point that out to him later on.

They have a bolt-on TBird that is missing bridge saddles and the input jack has been hit hard enough to sink into the body a little bit. Priced $350 with an older Gibson case... won't sell the case alone though.

For him not being a musician, I'd say so.
Before I stopped playing bass 5 years ago, we were looking for a later 60's EB3, none really came up before I stopped playing. Picked back up last year and have had my eyes open for an early 60's, but my bank won't let me anytime soon.

Maybe a good thing we don't have too many musicstores around here, and pawn shops are non existant in Denmark...
