I banged up my right index finger a couple of days ago. Notwithstanding I've had the Birds out for a twirl. They sound so good through the Traynor.

It must be said at this point that the NR41KB is hands down the most comfortable bass I have ever played -- it nearly plays itself.

Thinking of finally grabbing my first TBird. I'm planning to get my feet wet with an Epi, either a Classic IV or the new Vintage Pro. If I go with the former (due to availability and impatience), is it possible/easy to swap out those black plastic pickup covers with chrome or some other vintage-y metal thing? I'd much prefer the look, and I am a shallow, hollow shell of a human being (bassist). Also, are we all still in love with the Classic IV, as everyone was a couple of years ago when I last researched this? Seems like a solid buy.

The Vintage Pro will not have the same P/UPs as the Classic Pro so the verdict is still out as to whether it'll sound as good as the Classic Pro. So far, I'm assuming that most would favor the looks of the Vintage Pro so if the sound isn't to one's liking then a P/UP swap would be needed. That would probably be close to the price of chroming a Classic Pro.

Good point. If the Vintage Pro is already known to be as good as the Classic, I don't mind waiting. The early reviews of the simultaneous Embassy bass release were a little mixed, so I was somewhat apprehensive.

I don't believe anyone outside of an endorsed bassist has made that claim so I'm skeptical.

Really?, I would actualy create a youtube channel for this?. My Bird makes the cans anxious, and the neighbours. And the Pepsi can more than others.

That would absolutely drive me bonkers to have all that rattling in my practice space.

When my son had an acoustic drum kit, I'd flip the snare lever so as not to hear it rattling away.
