Thunderbird Club

For your listening pleasure my Cataldo siggy NR. My old band JOHNNY SMOKE, my last session with them one take, they just recently released this. Two signals, direct out from My Orange TB500 and a SM57 in front of a Orange 1x15. [This invalid link has been removed]

Great recordings... :)

How come you're not with them anymore?

Nah, that still applies, since its still in the condition it'd be delivered to the retailer in.

My band is Threshing Floor. This isn't me on these recordings, its the guy I replaced; my take on 'em is a little different.

Nasty drop-tuned stuff... :)

Sure hope you have retained that nasty distorted sound. :)

Played around and switched the DR legend flats to the classic from the p and did a quick set up for them and WOW! Soooo much sustain :) totally different strings on the tbird. Like a thump that will ring out forever if you let it if that makes sense. Very cool.
That is what I put on my Epi, DR Legends. Been thinking about half rounds. And put some Nickel Round on the Rex

Just because I felt like posting this. Recent multi band show, supplied backline, so no Hiwatt insight :( The bass rig died after our seto_O. My beat '66.

So the first two shows with the T-Bird this weekend!! :) I've already been given the green light to buy the white classic pro from the wife, just want to make sure everything goes good this weekend and I'll pull the trigger. The DR Fat Beams made the Goth come to life so I can't wait to hear the Gibson pickups in the classic pro. Now it's time to start selling some of my other project basses.

What an excellent wife you have! :)

If you like your Goth, you're gonna love the white Classic Pro... :)

Its actualy anything we want it to be, i play bass and a bit of guitar, my mate Alan he plays guitar a bit of keys and between us we program the drums and string sections. I think we would get away with bass/guitar and a set of keys live with drums/loops coming from a laptop

That would require some planning, but would be pretty cool, though...

What software are you planning to use?

Yeah I think I'll keep her! I don't think she was a fan of the Jazz/P bass faze I was going through and keeps commenting on how cool the Thunderbird looks.

It's funny how things change, I just finished modding my jazz bass and said I'm done.... Now this!

I think she's absolutely right - Jazz/P basses are just a phase that needs to get over... :)

Thunderbirds are so much cooler looking and not that common, compared to Fenders which are everywhere...

Ha!

The guys in my band were like "a P would be great here" and I built one and sounds amazing and then they were like "ya, the Thunderbird's the bass, man".

I really wish I would've connected with this Epi. I'm really not sure why 'cause it is a nice looking bass. So, here's what I'm doing. I just got a new Epi TBird case for her and I'm putting her away for a while to see how I feel about her sitting stored. Might keep her, might sell her. Just in case I took some pics.

*wipes up drool*

So, uh, hows the neck on these? Jazz or the wider style?

I used to have a Rick and a P-bass and loved the sound of them both, and felt they complemented each other pretty well but ended up selling them many years ago, when I switched to keyboards in the late 80's...

Fast forward to 2008/2009 I decided to pick up the bass again and bought my first T-bird, as I've always loved the look, and I gotta say the sound just sits right in the mix with my band. I did buy a Fender Blacktop P a while back, because if looked and sounded way cooler than other P's, but so far it hasn't had any action - The Thunderbirds just looks so much better and just feels right when I strap it on.

Totally hear that. I have a P, a J, a G3, a Dan Armstrong and the Thunderbird is easily the most comfortable. It fits my size and playing style perfectly.
