The Billy-Bo sounded amazing, but I couldn't see myself playing it live. It's a small body and I'm a big dude. I had zero idea what they were worth since I got mine free. Traded it for an Epi JC plus $600, didn't bond with the JC so I sold it for $600. So I suppose I got $1,200 for a bass I got for free, but wishing I'd have kept it in a way. All's well though I suppose. I found a rare SpectraSonic bass that sounds pretty much the same, but I prefer the looks.

I like how bright and "spanky" stainless steel round wounds are, and I like the softer feel of the DR Hi-Beams. If a bass string can be "comfortable"... Hi-Beams are the ones to do it:thumbsup:

I use shipitto.com. There are plenty of others. There are size limits on what can be shipped, but these companies have weight/volume calculators. Woukdn't hurt to have a look. The other alternative would be a bass mule. Get someone to buy the bass in the US and then get someone ro bring it over.

I also ripped out the pickups, wiring and preamp on a T-Bird PRO IV (as well as replacing the bridge and tuners). Until recently I always used Rotosound RS66 stainless steel strings. Now I use medium nickel Ken Smith Bass Burners, which have less zing, but keep what they have for a very long time.

Probably add £200 quid to the price anyway, with our rip-off import duty. Maybe we need to buy 'em Stateside, get 'em shipped to the Queen, she plays 'em for a day, then ships them to us in the UK, customs declaration "used", "value: $10". That'll deal with the duty! ;)

@JJR58 @kat888 and whoever else it may concern.
I found a new way to run my B7KU into my Mesa, and am really digging it! Turned the gain down a bit on the amp for a little cleaner tone, then turn up the master on the pedal. With the distortion disengaged, it really drives the tubes. Sounds great!

Then with the distortion engaged, grunt switch in boost position, attack I think was cut position, the drive and level were pretty high, it gets really dirty!
