Thank You! I love Andrew Drake basses and those Thunder’Blades are awesome pickups. @JIO at Gildaxe did the redesign and I couldn’t be happier.

As soon as funds allow, that MM looking parts bass will be headed his way. It’s a Nordstrand BigMan pickup in an MM cover. Great pickup! I’m adding a second one in the neck position. We’re playing with the idea of reshaping the body like a Gibson Victory. Or maybe sticking with Jio’s Teisco inspired designs

Probably add £200 quid to the price anyway, with our rip-off import duty. My Epi classic pro Iv is wearing black beauties at the recommendation of @GBassNorth . The black and white motif is great, the sound is good, and I have developed an appreciation for round core strings . It takes a little to get past the grippiness of the strings. Previously, I really liked NYXLs on it. I am suitably impressed with black beauties that the JC will get red devils.

I put strings on it because it sounds so much better with them.

I'm still thinking over what action to take with respect to the Pro-V. Current interesting thought - EMGs, no pre-amp or tone, just two volume controls and two switches (on-off and pick up selector).

Cobalt flats tore up my fingers. Really, who do flats do that? So, I would take chromes over cobalts. But, it is hard to pinpoint that time when a flat goes dead, so it is not clear when they need changing. I do not adhere to the orthodoxy that flats do not wear out. I have been trying a set of fat beams. They have a good feel - pressure wound on a round core. The sound is good. But, they don't seem to last well. After about 2 months, they have gone dead.

Surely you are familiar with packet routing as practiced by the internet. Luckily, the post office does not route their packages with packet routing, else you would need to reassemble goods when they arrived.

I'm still considering options for an office bass. I have the thought that the Yamaha could live in the office. Then I would "need" a new bass for home. Maybe the new RD artist... Or maybe the new red thunderbird... Maybe both....

maybe a yellow bongo?

Maybe buy two of those red Thunderbird’s and gift one to a local Canadian in this club ;)
