Thunderbird Club

You could use a shipping agency. When I buy 'US shipping only' goods, I ship to my warehouse address then get them onshipped. A bass might be pretty costly though.
There's also the Thunderbird Club biker gang that could kick into effect and do trans-shipping stuff somehow. Beats me how. I'm not sure anybody wants to ship anything through me, though.... You were expecting what? Where did it go? I dunno...

I wouldn't recommend my services as well. Especially if my boys got a hold of it.

:roflmao:

I’ve offered a helping hand in such events. Only for pedals and strings and such, but a bass or even amp is a bit much.
But no one’s taken me up on that offer yet.

Speak for yourselves - this is what appeared yesterday on the Andertons product page for the ebony that I ordered in July... :banghead:

I have a feeler out on another forum regarding European availability, will keep you posted.

This is so not happening for us Brits...... Most of the "well known" USA online dealers won't ship new Gibson/Epi product to the UK. Assume it's against their regional distrib agreements. Probably add £200 quid to the price anyway, with our rip-off import duty. Maybe we need to buy 'em Stateside, get 'em shipped to the Queen, she plays 'em for a day, then ships them to us in the UK, customs declaration "used", "value: $10". That'll deal with the duty! ;)

As a favor to a good friend I have shipped several Gibson and Epi basses to the Continent, cost was about 150.00, if you really want to I'll help you out.

Appreciate that! We're getting restless over here! It was bad enough when the flippin' Canadians were given first dibs, but now the Yanks have their greasy hands, (present company excepted), on 'em to. And all I have is a date in January, which will probably be pushed-back again to February! ;)

I was semi-joking, but if this Epi drought in the UK is gonna drag on, getting a hard case shipped to someone in the US along with a VP, and then I think I still have my UPS account, so could arrange a collection from them......

I wonder whether the fact that if you believe the sticker on the back of the headstock, that the VP's are being setup in the USA, so must be shipping from China/Indo (or whether they are being made in the East), to the US for setup before being shipped to distributors..... Perhaps that is contributing to the delays..... Maybe there is one guy in the US doing the setups, sitting there looking at a pile of 1000's of VP's awaiting setup.....

Our Queen is the only one to be trusted to handle such delicate transactions.
As far as setups on the new VP, i wouldn't count on that. That is left to our own devices.

@TBird1958 Do you have a contact perhaps, where we might be able to get a definitive answer on the fretboard material. ie. to confirm it is Blackwood Tec, not Rosewood..... Need to be 100% sure of not running into any CITES bullsh!t before contemplating shipping from US to UK.
