Yeah, same when I had my Ampeg pre up for sale. Might be crossing the line here, but, jerk weasel is what comes to mind, when it comes to those types.

I've been catching the new Epi T-bird Pro start filtering into reality here on tb. It looks bitchin! I have no control of this but I hope those of you expecting one are not going to replace the Epi-tr cover with one branded Gibson. Consider that Gibson has NEVER made an authentic RI style version of the Gen1 T-bird - never. If I were buying one (I really would love to buy one but frankly do not need another T-bird or bass I'm not making) I would sport the Epiphone tr cover proudly and give the one finger salute to Gibson. YOMV ;)

Certainly no reason to do that, there's no shame in playing an Epiphone, they nailed it with the Classic and I think the Vintage will be a great bass in it's own right. Mine lands Tuesday :hyper:

My first guitars and basses were Gibson’s, so I have a real affection for them, despite everything recently. That said, I love what Epiphone is going for! I tried to love the Embassy Pro, but...
Personally I’d love to try a TBird Pro. They look terrific :)

My Epi Les Paul Custom Elite came stock with a Gibson truss rod cover, soooooo....

It's the age old game... Chris is a buyer & Terry is a seller. Chris & Terry have something in common. They both want Chris's money! In a non-commercial setting... I think haggling is pretty much an expected part of any transaction. Chris & Terry both seem like reasonable folks capable of reaching a equally beneficial agreement through a mutual respect and open dialog. Let's watch the exciting action!:wideyed::wideyed:

It's all a lame-name-game similar to Fender vs Squier. Maybe it goes on more there, dissing Squier etc. Both sub-brands/umbrella brands have just as much cred by now, so it just comes down to which one works the best for any one individual player regardless of label.
