So it has has been a week since I got my first Thunderbird and it just keeps sounding better and better. It is the first bass that inherently cuts through the guitar and demands to be heard! I figured that I would just be rounding mu collection out because everyone knows a good collection of bass guitars needs a Thunderbird but now I am thinking I need another one in the form of a Vintage Pro.
Naw, just looks cool. One white on white, one black ABG, one black Goth and one tobacco burst old Japanese bass.
I’d vote 1: Ebony for VP
Excellent. Is there any benefit to the leather PG ? Apart from looks that is?
I love how the Muppets all seem to play left-handed. I wonder what the reason for that is.
'Cause nobody ever remembers their towels anymore...![]()

And then you'll want one strung BEAD... and let's not even start talking about Alpine White vs Cherry vs Black vs VS vs Pelham Blue...
Clearly you are a hoopy frood who really knows where his towel is at.
You will always need one more.
So many options and too few basses. Maybe I need to buy more...

Just more karma. If it gets JD on it, make sure the JD stays on it for a bit. I can't tell you what may or may not have been on the three point, since I got it used.Haha I like that. Well, it'll be on stage sat for one wild ride and might get some JD on it, I'll try not to but it gets crazy.
I had a picture of it somewhere. Now I don't remember. I owe lots of pictures by now, and I haven't done any of 'em.any pics?
Hey man... "happy wife, happy life". Time to take one for the teamMy wife saw a Goth for the first time and said it was one of the coolest basses she’s seen. That means I can get it, right?![]()

It ALWAYS works that way. Which is why UPS delivers to my day job. They all know I buy weird stuff that makes noise, so they have stopped rolling their eyes when some oddly shaped box rolls in.Just got a UPS notice. The bird is supposed to land tomorrow. Yes tomorrow. The day me and the girl are going to be 300 miles away visiting my family! Gotta call and reschedule that delivery. Excited to know it’s closer to me though!

But that's not so important as the NBD that's right on the edge of happening. Timing sucks, but it means you will have a 'Bird waiting to come home when you come home. Can't beat that!
@TBird1958 -- are you still with us Roni, or have you attained Thunderbird nirvana in a cloud of bliss?
I was waiting for a review too! I’m kinda more interested in the VP’s than the Gibson that is (slowly) headed my way![]()
Really can't wait to hear your impressions.None of my friends ( or the girl, for that matter!) know I’m getting this bass. Oddly, the guitarist for Prayer Flags (my fun side band) and I were talking before my Derek Hoke gig last night and he asked, “For the way you play and the sound you like, you ever considered just getting a reverse T Bird?”
I just said, “it’s crossed my mind.”![]()
Oh no! I hope you're ok today. But glad to hear you're enjoying the VP.Shortly after I posted that pic yesterday I really $%#^&* up my back installing a light fixture while doing some display work in the showroom, rest of the day was beyond excruciating, was difficult to just get the bass home. I sat with it for about 30 minutes and really enjoyed playing it and it's tone very much, it's a very nice bass (no price qualifier needed).
