Thunderbird Club

Keep in mind that New England is equipped to deal with that kind of snow. It happens almost every year. We only get a few inches all winter here. The infrastructure to handle a foot (and more this weekend) doesn't exist here. This is WAY out of the ordinary for us.
I hear ya, I lived in NC and Virginia in the 70's and what would be an everyday snowstorm here in New England brought those regions to a standstill. As a kid I didn't mind, usually meant a week out of school. i suspect it's not much different these days? In truth, we're actually having a rough go of it dealing with this year's white burial, this is out of the norm even for here! We haven't had band practice in 3 weeks because the white shite has been falling every scheduled practice, my TBird is feeling the cabin fever too! :)

At your ages seems like you should all have hired "goons" to load in & out!? Grown kids atleats. I have a gig Fri and I'll have my 16 yr old carrying most of it a d were a tribute band with props. Hell, my wife and daughter are back up singers and THEY'LL be carrying gear as well!
There's the irony of it all, when I was younger and better fit to handle load-ins/out, we had a whole crew who took care of it for us, all I had to do was hook everything up. Now, we no longer have that luxury, everybody is older and not so gung-ho to help the band. So I decided to downsize from my old rig (Marshall 3540 400w bass stack) to GK Backline 600 head and GK 410 cab but the cab is still just as heavy as one of the Marshall cabs. Worst part
is loading out/in from the basement we practice in, steep & narrow cement steps. We do what we must do for our art though, right? :)

be safe man! living in texas, we have tornadoes ALL the time. they can be super dangerous, although some of us are kind of used to them in the way that some are to earthquakes, i guess. remember, basses can be replaced, people can't!
WHAT CHU TALKIN BOUT WILLIS?!?! Growing up in Alaska, earthquake zone, I never met anyone that "got used to them".

Later on when I lived in Louisianna and I survived Hurricane Andrew I gain a lot of respect for the wind too.

So if you Google Bass players that use Thunderbird basses and 4 rows down is our Queen!! Not sure if this was ever posted but I thought it was cool.

Lotta folks escape to AZ (and other points west) to get the hell away from snow. As a native San Diegan, I can deal with earthquakes. You get pretty good at gauging how significant they are within a couple of moments. Out here in KY, we have rain that turns to a layer of ice (treacherous) in the winter (that's due this weekend, by the way) and in the spring we get tornado watches and warnings. Only been one that touched down since Ive been here, and that was in the back 40 of Fort Campbell, so not all that close to me. However, tornadoes are just too destructive to take lightly. I'll take earthquakes any day of the week...although I was no fan of wild fires.

It's pretty amazing that she's amongst Entwistle, sixx, Twiggy Ramirez (althought being spaced out with a les paul bass too :p ) Sir Paul with his rickenbacker and Mr. Steve harris with a precision bass.

By this standard, that means i have four 'thunderbirds' xP although 3 of them aren't as crazy looking as i thought they'd be :D

So the day has arrived!!! The white classic pro has landed!!! How is this bass only $499?? How? Dropped the bridge, tuned it up and off we went. The fit and finish are really good, some little paint flaws here and there but really really small. You'd have to be holding it in the light on an angle to see them. Like I did.... :) As required here is a picture.
