Hey!!!, That's one of the unwritten qualifiers to be in the club.
Actually, probably more likely that Gibson has exclusive distributorships. So, Sweetwater et. al. are granted a concession for a particular country (the US). Then, they use distributors internationally who can only sell within their contracted territory. These types of deals are not uncommon. So, despite the Australian distributor being in bankruptcy (or so I have heard on TB), the court has not yet cancelled contracts and/or conditions for Gibson to cancel the contract have not yet been met. Therefore, the exclusive concession to distribute Gibson products is in the hands of a company that can't afford t bring in the product. It will get sorted in time, but for now, our Australian friends are out of luck.

I wonder, what strap are you using and have you tried putting it over the body, where the elbow contour would have been?

I came up with a solution for the saddle issues I was having on my EB3 bridge, they were not accepting of my larger gauge strings witch tells me there is a discrepancy when it comes to quality control since my Bird's saddles took on the larger gauge strings like a champ. I decided to go ahead and put the P bass bridge on the EB3 and I found that the bridge is not tall enough to gain string clearance over the pickups therefor I would need to place a shim under the bridge. Then I had another option come to mind without the use of a shim. I dont know if anyone in the world has tried this before so I may be the first. Not only is it effective as hell but damn that tone just took a serious leap forward. The neck pickup poles adjusted to the proper height with this particular bridge combines for a sound one would expect to have on a higher end bass. This my friends is where I stand back and I say to myself " Mike you absolutely magnificent bastard you have done it again"!. Nice...I did similar about 5 years ago after deciding not to use the Fneder bridge because I wanted the E string end off the saddle and quick release. Probably only works with USA anchors that don't pull out. Twenty minute job with a rattail file.

I’ve seen this done. Tried it on my ‘Bird just for kicks this morning. It holds the bass more tightly to your body and props it up a bit, which could be great for some folks. For me it was a solution without a problem

Then, on the other hand, there are persons among us that goes great lengths to rescue animals - Saw a YT video on FB yesterday with a guy saving a rabbit from the wildfires in California, which made me happy!
No need to do that with my Bird. And both hands are being used to hold the phone.
Makes perfect sense to me, also makes multi quote reading easy!

Thank you.Mine doesnt dive either, I just do it because of the tilt and because I move around a lot and want it to move less. Makes it easier to play. I was just asking because I also want a VP and neck dive would be a deal breaker for me
yeah but the e string part (0:33~) was pretty warm/cool i loved it. i wonder using it with other pedals/amp is the bottom maintainable...
but after all i'm just an Orange dirt addicted fool

Understood. But this bass stays as is where ever i have it. Even in my imaginary world, when i practice standing.

But, but........... there could have been 5 separate posts right there.
One could claim to not have neck dive if one decided to wear a belt with a Gibson Thunderbird velcro belt buckle that attaches to a velcro patch on the backside of the Bird, but that would be cheating. Now that right there is a great Gibson marketing strategy to combat neck dive. But mine dont dive so I would not buy it.
@hillerup, the emblem is not silver. It’s white so perhaps that will help identify it to a certain TBird. I checked it to my TBirds and didn’t get a screw pattern match though it was close to my Gibson 2013 R.
