The drummer brought out a monitor we didn’t need. He said “with a proper rock bass you gotta do rehearsal with one foot on the monitor.” I told him my back was still a bit jacked up, so I was probably gonna use a barstool, yet he was insistent

Just like the session earlier, the bass made its presence known without stomping all over everyone else. I’m sure you guys are sick of me going on about this so much, but man, these basses are something special :)

I have had two separate producer/engineers both tell me how much they like the low end presence and clarity of the Thunderbird I used to record recently.

I love those CS First Acts. I used to have a Delia through an endorsement deal. Great basses! If I could grab that one, I would!

The drummer owns a bicycle shop, so we use it for rehearsals. All three members of this band are cyclists, so it’s kind of fun. We often ride together as well

I love Gretches! I've never owned one... I just love their vibe. Their unique style. Their choice in colors. Hell... IMHO... every guitar that was ever made, with painted on "F" holes, that doesn't say "Gretsch" on the headstock, should be labeled "invalid", and stricken from the register! I really dig the G5440LS their making right now. I'm not sure how well I could get along with a floating bridge though....

It's always great to hear recent converts amazement at the sonic bliss of our beloved Birds. I'm really glad you're enjoying yours so much, she's a looker!

Can't tell for sure from the pictures, do you play with a pic or fingerstyle? I'm a finger man but I've noticed the TBird really jumps to life with a pic.

Also, what strings are you using? We've got every type of string you can imagine on these Birds (flats, rounds, stainless, Nickel, cobalt, tapes, coated...) and rave reviews still come in regardless of string type. Always interesting to hear what others are using.
