Thunderbird Club

I wonder if there's such a thing as a 'Bird shaped (more or less) upright. Probably not, but it sure would make for an outrageous instrument.
Why not? They make a flying V violin (called "the Viper"):

Ok, my ‘Bird played its first show with me tonight. I can’t even begin to say how happy I am with it. The band absolutely loved the sound. It really was massive. Basking in the afterglow :)

Awesome, just awesome. That's the best initiation ever!

Even a bathroom scale should get you within 1/2 lbs. if you weigh yourself with the bass and without the bass and do a bit of cyphering.

I have a hard time believing that there could be that much variation in weight from the sub 8 lbs. we’ve heard and your near 10 lbs. VP.

Have you weighed it yourself? Curious minds want to know.
I did that. The scale said "One at a time, please." I think it was just being mean.

Kelly Ogden on her gear:

"I play a Gibson Thunderbird bass through a Mesa Boogie 400 head and 2x15 cabinet that I bought 8 years ago when I switched from guitar to bass. I also use a MXR Bass DI that really boosts my tone and has a nice distortion option too.

My favorite live mic is a Shure Beta 58.

That's pretty much it. I play rock n roll so... it's not too complicated. Although some people find a way to do it!"

Cool. First time I've heard of her or her band.

‘Bird>>Mesa 400>>215
Now we’re talking! Been thinking about trying to get one of those amps again. There’s a couple other contenders (Mesa Strategy, Fender Bassman 300, SVTII Non Pro). That’s a rock bass rig for sure!
