Thunderbird => Parapedal Wah => B7KU => Z.Vex Basstortion => Boss BF-3 Flanger => Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor (for when the aliens get really talkative) => Mesa Strategy => Acoustic 371 (370/301)

Might put my Bass Muff Deluxe back in to mess with for a bit.

I have a PF 500, works fine but it seems a bit generic to me so I went and changed things up. Now the Ampeg sits in her case in the closet. I should sell it.

So now:

I don't use compressors because I'm already going into an overdriven amp, which itself is a form of compression.

Well there is that. I tried the Chinabuckers into the Traynor with and without compression. Sounded better with the compression, bearing in mind BCP-1 compression is only a maximum of 2.78:1 on a soft knee = not very squishy at all. It does however have an undeniable fat and shiny coloration.

The top board didn't turn out perfect, but is useable. So I'm not going to waste Velcro on it, but it works for my current needs... or until I decide to make another top board. Put the power supply on the ground just so the wiring didn't look all twisted.

Yes but over a couple of days. I tightened the truss rod on my 73' Jazz bass after it sat for many years. It looked good when I put it back in the case but after a couple of days the neck developed a bow again. I let if sit for about a week and adjusted it again. Seems to be ok now.

The funny thing is you have more devices in your signal chain than I do. Which Shure? You may have said before but I wasn't taking notes.

GLX-D. It doubles as a tuner, which is great especially with the upright and gut strings. Plus, it lets me spin the upright, bounce around, and generally make an idiot of myself without getting tangled up in my own leash. It also has a rechargeable battery in the transmitter. That battery lasts some absurd number of hours, so even when I forget to plug it in, it hasn't run out of juice on me. And, I don't have to remember to bring batteries.

I thought you had more than three devices between your bass and your amp. You are more pure and virtuous than I am in your bass playing? *hangs head in shame, shuffles away feeling like he just got caught sneaking cookies right before supper*

I mean...on the fly... right then. As I relieve pressure on the TR wrench, it springs right back! I've never experienced this before & it's kinda meltin' my cheese here...
