I do, but the pedal is as high as the board itself, it's a comfort thing.

So over the past few weeks I acquired 3... eer.. 2 and a half straps. Top one came from the Land of Oz, just waiting on some inert .300 Win Mag rounds
The bottom two I picked up today from a local drag racer that my dad has known since the late-70's, for $5.. for the whole harness!!! They are both from one set of an expired 5-point safety harness from a drag car. The middle one is the shoulder harness, cut the flanges off, put a couple holes in it, put strap locks on, and is comfortable.
The bottom one is the lap belt. It's not as heavy as it looks, and should be just as comfortable. I would like to keep the flanges on it but will have to thin it out for the locks to fit.

Darn fine rigs all of you. But most of the time it seams nobody talked about cables. I think cheap cables can really weaken a sound. That being said I am running GC brand of cables and am considering upgrading someday. I supose it depends on several variables ie inly play at home vs playing gigs and of course the amperage being used. What instrument cables are you guys(and gals) using?

Currently running Pig Hog from instrument to pedal board, Hosa and some George L's through the pedal board, and a Yorkville from board to amp. Looking into making my own cables from Mogami cable and Neutrik or G&H connectors.

Any cable that doesn't make static is fine with me. I like black ones. I had a red one, but I don't know what happened to it. I had a kinda tweed looking one, too.

I one of my other lives I'm something of an 'audiophile' and most of this cable malarky is nothing but snake oil. Do I have something fancier than 'hookup' or 'bell' wire? Yes, but it isn't hyper expensive exotic silver in calf-skin dielectric or whatever.

For instrument use, Klotz make well priced quality cables. I have a 3m Klotz between my pedalboard and amp. A 6m Peavey with Neutrik 'silent' plugs between Bird and tuner. Various Fender patch cables that came free with a pedal I bought. My speaker cable is an Orange, only because it was the shortest one in the shop.

Now you've opened a fine can of worms.
There's at least a couple of different camps out there - I think cheap generic cables run the risk of impacting your sound and potentially failing at critical times. Likewise, I think uber expensive cables are a waste of money and don't always deliver any better results than much cheaper cables. IMHO the sweet spot is right around the Planet Waves price point. A bit cheaper than Monster cables and a bit more than GC blue light specials.

That said, what I really want is a Tort colored cable to coordinate with my FSO's.

You can make your own Mogami Platinum cables for $100 less than what they charge, using the same connectors and cable

I use Lava cables. They make some cool coils and some come with ""silent" plugs, where you can unplug from instrument (e.g., to switch instruments) and you get no hum/noise from amp. They can be stupid expensive but you can often find them on sale after holidays, when some online shops are doing inventory reduction.

This is the strap I like to use on my 'bird. Don't let the pics or low price scare you away. It's a very nice strap! It's a "2 ply" strap with a light padding material inside. It's not not springy or anything... just a little added comfort. The nylon webbing isn't the thick, stiff stuff you're probably used to on a nylon strap. It's softer, more pliable, and more comfortable. It adjusts at both ends, so you have a little control over how the bass hangs on you. I like it a lot

This came today, and it is a big improvement. More of a gradual neck slouch than an actual dive now . Quite comfortable too. I do wish it had a bit more length, but it just reaches my waist fully extended.
